Saw this pop up on the bottom of the recent post about big 12 media days on the front page and thought I'd post here. I enjoyed the read as we near football season!

Meanwhile, Kliff Kingsbury is one bad season away from becoming getting fired at Texas Tech the latest sexy hire for the Arizona Cardinals.

Can't believe CW didn't see this coming...

I think a realistic expectation is seeing ISU "settle out" as a 7-5 type program that has a 1-2 seasons per decade where we can get to 10 wins. After this initial build, I would be disappointed if we slipped to making bowl games less than 2/3 years. That's all assuming Campbell is here and we just keep things rolling.

I look at the best 10 year stretches for KSU and Wisconsin and think the ceiling is somewhere in that ballpark. People may hate me for saying it but maybe Iowa's best stretches under KF aren't far off either, basically matches what you just typed.

I think a lot of programs in our region of the country have the same ceiling (Iowa, Nebraska, Wisc, KSU, Illinois, NW, Minn, Missouri, Indiana, Purdue). Kansas seems to be uniquely challenged in the region but even KU had the one breakout season. Wisconsin seems to have capitalized the most with Iowa and KSU less consistent but in there. At this point you look at Nebraska's 00s and 10s and realize they have the same same ceiling we do and their expectations are an albatross around their neck.

Outside of his 'Tom Herman returning Texas to prominence' comment and being on board with Jacob Park, CW's outlook was pretty spot-on, and possibly not optimistic enough.

Start crushing the hoks every year, get the best players possible and keep challenging for the Big 12 title. And great bowl games to travel to. Is that asking too much?

I think the future will be similar to the last 4 years, 8ish wins most years with big 12 contender when we get the right combo of veteran players.

Nebraska has not had a natl champ caliber team in what....The Last 20 years or so....The Big Red fans who wanted so badly to bolt to the Big Ten are the ones who BUY SEASON TICKETS BUT STAY HOME!!
