The Fran fade

I think as a whole players well get some decent exposure money from the NIL stuff because the idea of more exclusive access to our favorite players is new/fresh...however over time it'll saturate and my guess is people are going to get sick of forking over ten bucks to see a player pimp fireworks.
I mean just think of the pros. There are select people that get endorsement deals. But what I do hope kids get money from is an EA NCAA football game!

I don't know a single Iowa fan, either on here or friend, that's seen Iowa play in the B1G basketball tournament when it's been in Chicago. EVER.
I've had countless interactions with our guys in KC over the years.

So, I just don't see the demand with it for the Iowa players. I just don't think their fan base cares enough.

I'm assuming the Iowa players are signing up for this because its like a "why not" situation.
I'm also assuming that translates into them thinking it will help with recruiting (it won't) because they encourage their players to be themselves and help market them.

I'm getting at I don't blame the players, I just don't think these guys are good enough to warrant making much money off it.
Honestly, if I were an Iowa fan, I'd pay money to chat with Jess Settles vs these guys because Jess has great insight on the game when I've heard/saw him.
I just don't think I'd pay 40 bucks for a video chat with anyone. If they can make money off it, good for them I suppose. It just feels so much like those late night 900 commercials to me...

I think the idea of video chatting with a college athlete is strange. A coach? Sure. But why do I want to talk to the kids? What would we talk about? I'm not trying to be cynical, I'm just legitimately curious what is being discussed in these interactions. "How's college going?" "You liking your classes?" "Are you dating anyone right now?" "Do you get to call home every now and then?" It's just weird to me.

They're looking to fleece superfan kids.
