I love how you take one thing I say and blow it up and go on a tangent. I’m just saying from an interest standpoint it won’t get the same viewership. That equals dollars and cents to the NBA so of course they care, lol. The more people watch the more money they make, pretty common knowledge.
I love seeing new blood in there, too, so not sure why the hostility, I’m just saying it helps to have the biggest stars on the biggest stage.
I’m 38. I think he’s beyond the “younger player” moniker now.
You said “it’s going to get BAD ratings”. Lower ratings != Bad ratings. Is it going to get bad ratings like the networks are going to cancel the next season? The TV contracts are locked in well in advance. That’s how business works and why it works the way it does.
The networks pay a rate hoping that they get Lebron v KD or Steph v KD more often than not, the NBA is protected in the years that doesn’t happen because they were locked in 5 years ago. TV Viewership just doesn’t matter as much as it used to and the NBA isn’t getting any less or more money based on who is in this finals. Could it impact a future contract? Maybe I guess.
Booker and Ayton are exciting players for Phoenix.
Trae Young is an exciting player for the Hawks.
People should watch the finals because those guys are going to be big players in the NBA for a long time.

John Collins is going to be a really good player.
Hunter and Reddish could be too, we just don't know yet.
When you dive into their roster, the Hawks have a great young core. They absolutely remind me of the Thunder almost a decade ago.
I am super excited to watch this Finals. Didn't really watch much NBA last year but since the conf. semis I have been locked in. Definitely more interesting with new teams and new faces.
This years playoffs have been great, the crying over the injuries is 100% because the teams that will be playing for the ring aren't on the coasts. In the long run, having an exploding metro like Phoenix host a winning team can't be bad, I also feel like ATL is kind of a sleeping giant. Those franchises have announced their arrival in these playoffs, neither are going away any time soon. I don't get how that's bad for the league.

Yeah I want Milwaukee to make the finals just to show that smaller market teams can do it.
they have the 6th largest payroll in the league (and will be top 4 next year), they are one of the super teams. ATL is the 26th highest payroll and PHX is the 20th, those are the teams you should be rooting for, not a team that is simply trying to outspend everyone.
I disagree. I think the best team won last year and the best team will (should) win this year. The Suns
My only caveat to this is I think LAC may have been the best team with healthy Kawhi. They beat the 1-seed Jazz mostly without him and took the Suns to 6. The series really may have gone the other way with a healthy Kawhi.

How is Milwaukee trying to outspend everyone? There is a league salary cap - and Milwaukee has simply given max contracts to their two home grown stars (Middleton didn’t start with Milwaukee but more or less could have). Then traded for Holiday. They aren’t building super team by paying max free agents. Everyone has a pretty even playing field unlike baseball- up to you how to use the cap space.

I was just going to say, John Collins is also a good young player, he has the misfortune of having a very boring name. John Collins sounds like a guy that went exploring with Lewis and Clark.
They have an equal payroll to the Lakers and Clippers, they've made 2 big trades in the last three years to bring in stars (Bledsoe and Holiday). They are 27 million over the cap. I'm not bashing them all, everyone should try to win but they are more like the Nets/Lakers/Clippers than teams like the Suns and Hawks.

Looking over that link is some interesting notes. Lakers have only 7 under contract. So of their fa they will resign Caruso but others probably not.
Suns have alot of their core back but Payne is a fa who was making 2 million a year this year. He's in store for a huge payday as is Reggie Jackson.
Suns front office look like absolute geniuses in every phase of putting a team together.
