Iowa Beat Writers

What happened to Emmert?

Probably voted out of covering the Hawkeyes by the athletic department for having the audacity to write about the racists activities in the football program.

Iowa keeps tight reins on those who cover them so the "journalists" end up spewing propaganda. This started under Hayden Fry who had called out a WMT/KGAN sport reporter (Howard Towne I think was his name) when Towne questioned Fry on running the score up. Access dried up and IIRC Towne then left the station. Fry also had a habit of brow beating at least one member of the media every year so the examples Twins brings up are just following their marching orders. Having said that, Least a Cow is the worst I've seen. Makes Jon Miller look like an amateur.

Ha, actually a name I recognize and only because it was when I dropped my The Athletic subscription. Got talked into the subscription by some peeps on CF. This dooch guy had a boorish article showing up in my ISU feed which was something that you might have thought was written by a drunken tavern Hawk. So full of hate and condensation that it might make a Hawk troll here blush. And The Athletics thought this was good Cyclone news. And, **** them.
I recall that article. Extremely condescending. Like a typical hok fan, he spent most of the article talking about how bad the program has been in the past.

Garza could absolutely outwork everybody in college and good on him for doing it. Trying really hard and doing the Miken drill isn't getting you on an NBA roster.

He'll have a nice little career in Europe until his knees, hips and back break down from the overuse and marathon workouts.

NBA is all about pace and space. Garza is the slowest prospect at the combine by a WIDE margin. Honestly makes his numbers in college more impressive

The Tweet spinning Garza's "speed" as not quite the slowest in one category and spinning that as something positive and "unexpected" is just too funny. It's like one of the slowest MLB players bragging that he isn't the slowest catcher and there's some other guy who is a bit slower.

It's like bragging about having the nicest boobs in the nursing home.
