Amazing comeback in the 2021 French Open Final by Djokovic. Down 2 sets to love and pulls it out. He now has 19 total Championships won. Will he be known as the best player in history?

(Djokovic is also the third player in men's tennis history with multiple 2-0 comebacks along the way to winning a major title. The others are Henri Cochet at 1927 Wimbledon (three comebacks from two sets down) and Ted Schroeder at 1949 Wimbledon, per SIG.)

For Djokovic, though, the quest for ultimate greatness continues. He will be the favorite to win at Wimbledon, which begins in a fortnight, with a chance to equal Federer and Nadal at 20 Grand Slams.

Should he manage that, he will then go to the US Open looking to break the record and complete the calendar-year Slam. Few would bet against him.

"I think he has the ability to win the Grand Slam for this year," Marian Vajda, Djokovic's coach, said Sunday. "I'm pretty sure."

Not in the conversation for top top but I always wondered what would have happened if Agassi actually enjoyed tennis.

If he ends up with the most grand slams, then it's a no brainer. He's got a winning record against Nadal and Federer too. I think it's highly unlikely he doesn't get the most. Federer is probably done. Nadal might be able to win 1 or 2 more. Djokovic could keep rolling for another 3 years or so. Would not be surprised if he ends up with 24-25 majors.

I feel like it's crazy how dominant each of the top three are at their own best surfaces.

I've always liked Rafa Nadal, even though he's basically a clay specialist. I'm interested to see how many more Djokovic can win though.

He was incredible for a time....but not even close to the best.

He’s the best tennis player. Did he win the most majors? No.

Was he the best player ever? Yes.

Does Tiger Woods have the most majors ever? No.

Is he the best golfer ever? Yes.

Question: When was the last time you saw people playing tennis at a local court? I see more people playing pickelball than tennis anymore. Probably the reason USA tennis is doing so poorly in tournaments....not much interest from the youth.

He had some of the best hair in tennis, but not the total game of a Federer or Djokovic, and not the power of a Nadal. Heck he rarely beat Pete in his prime.

In my mind, I see a high crossover between tennis and golf as youth. I think Tiger Woods made golf cooler so more kids play that.

Tiger was completely capable of winning the most majors ever without multiple injuries. Agassi played for several years and isn't even close to the top winners.

Agassi was awesome though. He flamed out pretty quick but made a good comeback.

Waveland, Walker-Johnston, Johnston middle school, Valley Southwoods and Ankeny are usually pretty busy in the evenings.

You're right about USA tennis not being very good, though. I don't know what the solution is there. To be a grand slam caliber player right now you basically have to grow up training to be a pro tennis player.

Tennis is a pretty brutal sport to be excellent at. You have to start training from the point you are a child and do nothing else and commit to it fully, all while training by yourself a lot. I'd never push my kids toward tennis.

This exactly. A specialized sport like tennis, if you are going to make the big stages you are groomed from very young. All of the big overseas players have lived in Florida since an early age and train there.

I still see tennis courts full all over the place. Pickleball is growing (which rocks, I love both), but I don't think you can make that comparison. I mean really, how many courts, tennis or pickleball especially, can you even see from main street views?

I got to watch the whole French Open final, that was great! I had a short call/meeting when Novac had the break in the first set at 5, came back to see he lost in a tie-breaker.

I think Federer might be slightly ahead of Djokovic because he had to play both of them through there entire prime, where Novac gets to clean up a little more now that Federer is getting older.

It's tight though, all 3 have outstanding personalities and so great for the sport!
