Wow that’s actually pretty crazy. Yeah almost every single level headed Iowa fan I’ve talked to said they were giving Fran one more year (last year) to do something before they wanted a change.
Common theme for Iowa, avoid playing the best team in the conference.Sort of. Michigan was #5 at the time but lost 3 conference games, didn't have to play OSU, etc. Good non-conference though.

Most Iowa fans I know were pissed about that extension a few years back Barta gave him that wasn't announced until someone like the Register or Gaz found out about it.
Yeah most people I knew were mad about that as well. Iowa State being not s*** awful this year will change even the most biased fan’s perspectives.

Granted ISU hasn't beaten a TEXAS Texas team but I also don't see many ISU fans acting like ISU is all of the sudden the center of college football either.

The last time UNLV was a power house program was when Jerry Tarkanian was there, and I'm just guessing there may have been some recruiting violations back in the day that were never caught.
