The Fran fade

I would much rather have Fran than Otzelberger. It’s weird - according to Iowa State fans, Fran can’t recruit and he can’t coach - yet Iowa has won 20+ games in 7 of the last 9 years. Fran must be one lucky SOB.

Only luck SOB I know that could have the NPOY and get throttled the first weekend of the tourney. Great use of talent there.

But seriously, I hope you and every hok do everything you can do to keep Fran forever. he is the perfect representative of hok athletics.

Well this is just an objectively stupid post. I don’t think Fran has ever hit on his top option at PG before landing Bowen. I guess probably Mike Gesell. Bowen has better offers than Eli King, so I guess if Bowen is a 275 pound girl, King must be pushing 290.
What about Bowen’s composite ranking?

Reminder: Bowen is rated higher than Lipsey, and has better offers than both King and Lipsey. Rutgers, Penn State, Miami, USC, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Boston College are better offers than Minnesota, Nebraska, and Stanford.
As your bumblebee friend Brodie explains in another post, this is how recruiting works- Bowen may or may not have had these offers but he also was quite likely not Option A as a ‘22 PG for those schools- some of these schools might have had him as Plan B or C. If they need a PG in this class they probably have 3-5 offers out there.

I don’t understand the last gif. Iowa will still have a better team than Iowa State next season even after losing Garza, Wieskamp, and Fredrick.
I love how Iowa fans believe Fran and Sherm, all of a sudden in Year 12, are going to wake up and have an epiphany and decide to guard. It’s not part of Fran’s deal- it’s why with the best personnel he’s had in his time at Iowa, not only could he not get out of the first weekend, he got steamrolled by Oregon in the 2nd round- and it could have been much worse but Dana Altman was nice and took his foot off the gas.

Are you aware of how recruiting works?

i don’t think you do either. Did you ever frame up you IM Championship Basketball $3 T-shirt from the University of Phoenix or whatever “prestigious” university you went to? Just wondering.

And you know this how? Link?
For years now UNLV fans have thought they are a top 10 bball program. There were fans that weren’t upset with TJ leaving bc he had 1 down year. But no, they weren’t begging lol.

And yes we’d love to get into a pissing match about bball coaches lol. Fran hasn’t done jack s*** at Iowa since he’s been there. He’s been steadily above average and that’s it. Iowa fans are fine with that. At least Brodie is..

A marked consistency with their football team. Settle for average to above average...over pay the coaches...rinse and repeat.

That includes the Fry years. Had a massive uptick the first 5-6 years but were pretty average after that outside of maybe one or two seasons.

And even their first trip to the Rose Bowl was an 8-3 record that they likely openly mock ISU fans for re: similar record to the Fiesta.

At least the 8-3 record in that case case was more legitimate than some of their recent records that were padded by playing the dregs of the BIG and avoiding most of the power teams.

Sort of. Michigan was #5 at the time but lost 3 conference games, didn't have to play OSU, etc. Good non-conference though.

Man the soft Pac-10/12 must have always had big time unfair advantages.
