Suppose this last season was the time for him to finally change some minds but didn't pan out.

His teams play hard and play well together because they're on the same team for a solid 4 (or 6) years. It's no surprise they have some success especially in an era where college basketball is lacking in continuity.

But then as the season goes on it starts to be obvious that the overall talent isn't there and then a team like Oregon comes along that really doesn't give a **** about being stared down by the coach's son and basically plays summer league ball.

I agree with a lot of that but also don't think most of his teams over the years have played hard on defense.
