With Doyle.... I love how as soon as he was sh!t canned he was no longer the best in the business....

No one in their right minds outside of maybe a couple irrational Iowa State fans think that every single year for the rest of CMC’s career here, we’ll be in the top-10. We’ve been in the top 10 for 1 single year out of CMC’s 5 here. Next year we should live in it as well, but that doesn’t mean we’ll do that year in and year out.
We are bound to have a year (maybe two) where we go 6-6 and then 8-4 or something like that before winning 9 or 10 games again. Will our records look like Iowa’s have? Sure, maybe, but we also don’t play in the worst side of a conference in P5 college football.
Or Iowa hires a good coach and maintains success or gets them better. There is another side to your theory.

Current players said they were walking on egg shells lol. Dude if you honestly think at that time a bunch of college players were going to come out to Iowa reporters (fans) and say they think Kirk should be let go, I don’t know what to tell you.
Have things gotten better? 100%, because there’s a current lawsuit against Iowa lol. Of course Kirk has changed (for the time being). They pinned everything on one guy and are trying to ride anything off into the sunset. Kirk still didn’t punish two guys that would’ve been let go at most other schools.
I mean that Iowa is probably not going to be able to compete with Texas lol. ISU they can but not Texas.
We're going to be more like Wisconsin than Iowa. Iowa rarely competes for division titles let alone conference championships
