Iowa Football Recruiting

Who talks like this? I get embarrassed for you just reading comments like that.

You are one to talk about embarrassing takes. Is there anything more embarrassing that someone who has to live on some other teams fan site? How much pride do you have to swallow clinging to recruiting rankings because the real attention is all about your rivals rising program? Your story just screams desperation.

What is the theory on this board going to be when Iowa finishes ahead of ISU in recruiting like they have every year since probably rankings started? I cannot even venture a guess.

See me after we finish up another NY6 bowl game. We can compare recruiting trophy to championship trophies. Hell, don't wait until we see what happens this year - whip out the hardware hoks got for winning recruiting ranking race last year!

I haven’t spoken to any personally, but a guy I know who runs an Iowa podcast has talked to multiple recruits. They’ve said that they don’t feel too worried about the allegations, and they believe Kirk will be able to work it out.
So Kirk should sign plenty of quality AA recruits in 2022?

I've been adamant Iowa will still be able to do well with white recruits. I'm not sure they'll finish ahead of Iowa State though

This board is the like Parler of college message boards, its just made up BS and spin. You guys have tunnel vision. Basically recruiting has been at a stall at 95% of schools because of covid so Iowa having 2 recruits is what it is. You guys have 4, Alabama has 6. Recruiting starts in earnest next week.

I get how the recruiting stall is hard on hokdom. All you have is your 'stellar' recruiting ranking. I get it, it is a big thing to hang you hat on. You actually out recruited a Top 10 program. ISU used to grasp at those straws and it was frustrating because we wanted the program performance, not just some meaningless ranking win.

Cool thing around here is that program is making great progress in all aspects - culture, national attention, player development, winning games, playing in CCG, playing in and winning NY6 games.

Ya know, if that kind of progress is making up ****, I'll take it because the rest of the CFB world is making up the same **** about us.

Podcast guy: “Hi, I do a HOK podcast. Can you tell me how these allegations affect Hok’s recruitment of you?”

recruit: “yah... uh.... I mean... uh... i guess it really doesn’t... maybe... I don’t know....”

...

podcast guy to you: “Yea, those allegations aren’t affecting recruiting at all. We’re good.”

Point is, don’t look at the perspection... look at the facts.

Only spin I see is delusional Hok fans who have to live over here. Moral? If Hoks would leave our message board alone and it would quickly clean up all the trash that's here

Hey, let me know when you get a hok fan to do that part, would be a neat trick.

Slam dunks:
Jacob Imming
Arlen Harris
Will Mclaughlin

Realistic options (have all been discussed on here as realistic options to Iowa so not just offers) that have or will say no:
Elic Ayomanor
Eli Raridon
Kaden Helms
Jack Nickel
Chris Petrucci
Nick Herzog
Carson Hinzman
Tomiwa Durojaiye
Tag Bonnema
Jalon Peoples
Tre Holloman
Xavier Nwankpa
Isaac Thompson
Jaren Kanak

I'm sure I'm missing more and I'm being generous here on the second list because I think multiple guys on that list were Crystal Balled to Iowa and could be in the "slam dunk" category
John Alt on son Joe Alt:
That was difficult," John admitted, "but as I kept telling Joe, it's not about me. It's not my journey, it's his, and things happen for a reason. He wanted to be trained by [Chris] Doyle and Doyle is gone. It fell into place with Notre Dame and it's hard to argue it. I stayed out of the Iowa part of it, but I had a good conversation with Coach Ferentz this morning. I'll always be a Hawkeye, I'm grateful for what they've done for me and my family -- they offered my other son Mark who ended up playing hockey at Minnesota -- they've been good to me, loyal to me and I hope I've been loyal to them. But this not about me.

Lol yeah 2021 list would be huge. 2022 is already big and it's not even June

What do you think the point of recruiting is? Since Iowa “finishes ahead in recruiting every year” but ISU made a conference championship game this (Iowa hasn’t in 5 years) and won a major bowl game (Iowa hasn’t in over a decade)

Hoks like the subjective competitions much more than the objective variety. They can (and will) argue they win every subjective measure. We could start beating them in recruiting and they will find some obscure ranking that has them ahead - or they'll revert to number of TE's currently playing in the NFL or compare difficulty of Math 151 courses.

Recruiting rankings from last year is all they have to cling to right now. Let them have it, they can put it next to their 2nd Place in the B1G West trophy.

Remember he said Iowa State was a "coin flip" from going 7-5 even though they 2 of our 3 losses were decided by less than a TD
