The Fran fade

He said that Iowa is being considered “very seriously” and is getting an official visit. If you want to play semantics and pretend like that is something completely different from “legit shot,” knock your socks off. But nothing I said in my prior post could be interpreted as me claiming that Iowa is the favorite, or that “nobody has a BETTER shot than Iowa.” If that is what you took away from my post, it might be time to take some remedial reading comprehension classes.

3 visits set.....3 more tentative (including Iowa) then 6-8 more in the fall. Sounds like about 12 schools are being considered "very seriously".

I see Iowa's standards for recruiting "wins" have dropped even more. It wasn't too long ago that a win was "being in the top 3 or 5 of a recruit's final list." Now, it apparently is "we ARE GETTING a visit from a recruit who also plans on visiting 10-15 other schools."

They get excited if their homer 247 guys list them as warm for an African American recruit

This is from 2 hours ago

Bossi says: "So, the four-star playmaker is still pretty wide open."

So I guess if you interpret "Wide open" as "Nobody has a BETTER shot than Iowa" as legit...

Now-a-days, that is about as good as it gets for Fran's recruiting. I don't blame Brodie for embracing the chance while it exists.

I don't see any discussion as to why the initial thread about Jorbo getting beat up was taken down. I'm sure there was a reason (maybe legal?). IMHO if there is evidence out there, it's not simply rumors and should be fine to discuss. Again, whatever the reasons are, probably makes my opinion irrelevant.

We’re not allowed to break stories in the normie forum. Especially not one that CWs good racin’ buddy Chad has the inside track on. Gotta get those Rag clicks.

LMAO. 0% chance.
If he was a 6'9" white spider who had a relative who played sports for Iowa sometime in the past, he'd likely be a hok lock. He is a PG. Let me say that again - he is a POINT GUARD! No way on earth is he going to Iowa. Fran will get the fan base excited if the guy narrows down his top 5 to include the Hoks. All of Fran's eggs will go into that basket. When the guy chooses UNLV or some other program over Iowa, the recruiting window to get a legit P1 point guard will have passed, and Fran will sign a guy who was planning on playing for Coe (or dish out another scholly to a walk-on). As a result, Iowa's offense will continue to be run by a below-average floor general.

I’ll be honest I don’t knock Iowa fans for being excited seeing their name in the mix with great recruits. I do it from time to time too. However, given that Fran has never landed anyone even close to this guy’s level, and this guy isn’t a legacy nor does he have a huge connection to Iowa, it seems as if there’s not much smoke here.

This is correct. There is no way in hell Fran will bring a PG that could take any minutes from CMac. This team is about his two sons and every decision made is based on that. The Garza blip gave a lot of hoks false hope and fooled the CBB for a bit but Fran hasn't waivered from his approach - and Margaret won't let him.
