That makes Campbell’s post-commitment efforts even stranger. Why would you spend so much time recruiting a committed player to a position he doesn’t even want to play?
If the staff wanted him at DE, he’d be a cyclone. Good get for Iowa.
I am interested to see if Campbell can sustain the success with low ranked recruiting classes. Ferentz has proven teams in the 50s and lower 40s sprinkled in make for up and down runs.
ISU does not have an issue with racism, so not at all concerned. Ferentz, on the other hand.....

So, with Campbell's low ranked classes he gets then to Big 12 title game. Imagine if he gets higher ranked classes?
Ferentz has proven lower ranked classes mean down seasons. By that logic, Campbell>>>> Ferentz. Of course we already knew that: With all those drafted into the league and still can't win the B1G West? Again, Campbell>>> Ferentz.
So the clones are going to get 10-15 athletes from FL to come to Ames? and like 5 more from Texas? that might net you about 5 guys if you are lucky. Where is the recruits from Omaha, Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago, Minneapolis? Not saying it is wrong to go for FL and TX, but those are less likely IMO.
7-5 are down seasons at Iowa. Campbell is great, but by now I would think his coaching would net him bigger named recruits out of state.
A powerhouse like Iowa State recruits all over the nation. The Florida guys love ISU btw.
It really should not matter where a player comes from. Just get the ones that best fit your program.
They also loved Frost at NE but transferred out after 2 years
I believe this is more the norm the last 10 years or so.
In todays landscape, landing kids within your footprint is kind of a big deal.
