Iowa Football Recruiting

Possible 3 losses to OU, Texas, and OSU. KSU, WVU are wild cards here. I am on record as saying that I think ISU can run the table and will beat Iowa, UNLV and UNI. I just think the floor is 9-3 with 3 conference slip ups as a possibility. Realistically it is probably more likely to be 10-2. Went safe with the 9-3
ISU could easily lose 3-4 games. A key injury, missed FG, bad weather fumbles...anything can happen. I'd set the O/U at 9.5.

I'm not naive to think that he would turn down all NFL offers for 68 million. He's a "right job" kind of guy. I think the money is secondary. As much as money can be.
I like it for the fact that he is wanting what is right for him. I think if he has a good year ISU should be a little worried if say ND or another top notch NFL job opens up. Chicago might be pretty attractive with Fields there.

FWIW, I have it on good authority that Petras is legitimately good in practice. The staff and players alike were really surprised when he sucked last year. Some guys just don’t have it when the bullets start flying, and unfortunately it looks like Petras may be one of those guys.

LMAO and that was in front of empty stadiums....

He's betting on himself. Nothing wrong with that.

Ok St scares the crap out of me. Sanders is a wild card but has the tools of QBs our defense struggles against (fearless at going downfield and can pick up 3rd and 5s with his feet)

I think OSU is ready for a bit of a run here. I am not sure who steps up in the Big 12 this year besides them. ISU, OU then everyone else this year.

Replacing a bunch of pieces on offense isn’t a big deal for them because Gundy is one of the best offensive coaches in the country. Their D returns a ton from a really good unit last year. I think they finish the year ranked 10-17ish.

Any team with good QB play has a chance.

OU, ISU, OSU, KSU, TCU.

If WVU finds a QB, they will be tough.
I find it really hard to predict how the year is going to go for anyone honestly. I think ISU will do good because they were good last year and return basically everyone. BUT it was a weird year across the nation. We had Louisiana, Coastal Carolina, and BYU all ranked high. That has not happened for a while in this era anyway.
