Iowa Football Recruiting

Whoa! and Iowa State is not the worst team on that list. Whodathunk?

Waiting for the Hawk fans to mention this about the B1G:

Remember when you said Iowa cherry picked stats for using 2015? This is using 2017. Like wtf is that lol. It’s not like Campbell started in 2017 either.
Yeah it's a cherry picked stat for sure. Doesn't change the fact Campbell has sustained some success and already accomplished more than Hayden Fry did in a single season

Do you genuinely believe this past season doesn’t have an asterisk on it?

I mean Hayden Fry never had a team finish in the top 9 in the AP poll in his career or win a bowl game like the Fiesta Bowl and he has a statue lol
When the statue of Fry was made, did the artist look at a California raisin for reference to sculpt Hayden's face?

I'm curious since this thread took a left turn into "Praise Hayden" land... How many conference championship games did Ol' Raisin Face win anyways?

Except Iowa State played every other team in the Big 12...every year, while Iowa enjoys a cherry picked schedule every year by not even actually playing all of the strongest teams in the BIG. Question...what is Iowa's record if they played in the BIG East? Heck, you have 1-2 more loses every year if you even played Nebraska's BIG schedule. How much to you want to keep Ferentz if he routinely puts in 5-7 or 5-6 records?

Interesting question so I looked a few things up. In the 10 seasons prior to the B1G moving to divisional play, Iowa played Penn St. 8 times, Michigan 8 times, Michigan St. 8 times, and OSU 6 times. There were four seasons where Iowa played all 4 of them, and in those seasons went 10-3, 10-2, 11-2, and 8-5. During that entire span, Iowa averaged 8-9 wins per season. Who knows how they'd do today, but they seemed to do ok against the best teams in the East back then.
