Hunter Reaffirms Commitment

Fizer was the best HS recruit ISU has ever landed. Now if you are talking best recruits best on their HS ranking even if they transferred hear, then you have to probably put Jerome Harper up there with Fizer and Royce White up there probably around Brackins.
And of course the best class ISU has ever signed included Jerome Harper but that class ended up being a disaster for Eustachey. If I remember correctly, it was rated #2 class in the country by one service.
I think the class with Fizer was rated #1 by some services at the time. When Bruton and Henderson didn't show the ratings dropped. Still a good class and just needed a Tinsley to succeed. Didn't the Jerome Harper class include Chris Alexander?
I think I remember thinking of that Eustachy class (#2 rated), Oh wow, we're going to be/ stay good. And then poof, it all kind of disappeared in a few years.
Anybody know who was in that class other than Harper? And why couldn't Harper play for ISU again (ineligible, but why)?

And the Fizer class being rated #1, wow. With Bruton and Henderson? Don't remember those guys. Where did they wind up going. Henderson to Iowa right?

Here was at least part of the 2002-03 class:

I can't answer why Harper didn't play, I can't recall off top of my head). (I think Barnes was a grades-thing, but memory could be wrong about that, too

Yeah that 02-03 class was still pretty good with Barnes and Vroman being very good for us. Don't remember what happened to Chris Alexander, why he only played 9 games (?) for the Cyclones?

I think it was academics for Harper. I’m pretty sure he killed(or tried to) someone a few years later.

Gerrod Henderson didn't qualify and eventually was the Sun Belt player of the year for LA Tech.

CJ Bruton played on a semi pro team in Australia that paid some of the players. The NCAA ruled him ineligible.

Was initially recruited by huggy bear at Cincy but was let go after an assault charge. Played for Indian Hills a couple of seasons and found trouble there as well. LE took a flyer and he didn't make grades. I think the murder charge was for something that happened before he was even in college. There might have been even another after that. Didn't hear if he was ever convicted of either.

I went to some Big 22 classic at Hilton that had Bruton, Henderson, Fizer and maybe Chris Mihm as well. I remember Henderson winning a dunk contest at the event. He was an athletic freak.

Uh, excuse me, did I say he was coming to Iowa State under CSP?

Well you certainly inferred that by bolding his name in the same fashion as other commits under Prohm.
Does Prohm get credit for Lipsey as well?

Your point is that Prohm recruited some very talented individuals. That point is well taken. We can also probably agree that Wiggington and THT didn’t develop enough in their time here to truly showcase consistent greatness in line with their ranking. Some of that is on the staff.
Three of the last four years were below average to disaster. 0-19 last year under his guidance. Can we just stop with the idea of trying to constantly prop him up by making excuses for him at every turn? He was a good coach at the mid-major level. He was average to below average in the Big 12 finishing with a 40-68 (.373) conference record during his tenure.

Why don't you just leave it at that? What are you afraid of? That if some of Prohm's original recruits are a huge part in TJ's success people will say it's because of Prohm? Considering what you have been shoveling since 2015 that would be rich. Every coach outside of GMAC has in one way or another taken advantage of the talent the previous coach recruited and/or left. It's okay to admit that some of TJ's early success may come in large part come from players like (Hunter, Foster, Hinson, Johnson). What, you think it's going to tarnish TJ if true? Then that's a you problem, because it doesn't. Or.....maybe you just worry too much about what might be said on this site. I don't know.

But I'm not going to come on here and sing the praises of Steve Prohm if Foster and/or Hunter average a triple double and they make the tourney in TJ's first year. In fact with the talent that was kept and what is coming..........I'm counting on it! You and those who think like you may need to sit back and take a sip from a tall cold glass of get a grip and enjoy basketball again. Because Steve Prohm is gone. He left TJ some talent. THAT'S A GOOD THING!!!

CPR won with Chiz players. CMC won with CPR players. That’s literally how it works when you take over a team. While TJ has rebuilt most of this team(especially at the top of the lineup), there’s still some Prohm guys.

Literally, who ******* cares. Prohm was a good recruiter(when it came to NBA talent), bad coach. He’s gone now. Get over it.
