Trying to leverage a player into an assistant position? If you pull up the prior top IMG players in the previous classes.. None went to an ISU type school. Lots of Blue Bloods or SEC. Beard got a player out of there but we aren't punching at that class

No idea, probably a fairly long shot at this point. I just find it funny that Fran thinks his relational skills are good enough to the point where he can jump in and offer a highly touted prospect after several other programs have, and actually have a chance.

You either play the transfer game or get rolled over year after year. There are 347 Div 1 teams...at 13 scholly's per team...4,511 players. Nearly 1,500 in the portal this year...33% of the players. Now, a team can still produce using only High School players...but you are basically playing with a hand tied behind your back if you don't become good at working the portal. Fran's "right way" is going to doom him.

I am saying academically it is very solid. I have a son that has had dialogue with them for baseball.

He did...maybe the start of new "right way". Of course, the harder job is to take players that have 1, 2, or 3 years left and integrate them into a team. That's the part that trips up most coaches...and perhaps the biggest question mark for TJ to answer at ISU.
