MLB: *** 2021 MLB Season Thread ***

Lol change is coming?

TL;DR No more extra innings, now a home run derby.

Bryce Harper took a 97mph pitch to the face.

The "warning" rule is so dumb. So this guy can't quite hitting guys and both teams get warned that the next person to hit someone gets ejected. What exactly is the reasoning behind the Phillies getting warned?

Interesting 20121 tidbit, at least to me, first MLB game of the year with both teams not having to wear masks in the dugout: Yanks vs Tigers in NY tonight. If 85% of your "Tier 1" peeps are vaccinated masks aren't mandatory. League is at 81% overall so more teams besides the first five that hit that threshold will be added soon. Also means less MLB placed restrictions on going out to eat on the road etc. At least one team, forgot the name, was lagging behind because of peeps refusing the vaccine. Interesting clubhouse dynamics if you can't go out to eat outside of the hotel because of a couple of teammates.

I know the Twins are below the 85%. The broadcasters have mentioned it a couple of times

"Noted bad umpire, Ángel Hernández...." Ha, loved this lead in because it's a fact that looks like a twitter opinion.

Anyway, Hernández sucking, again. Some NSFW (or kiddies) in the breakdown.

How many minor league teams were eliminated? How will this affect the number of new players drafted from high school/colleges?

A ton. I read somewhere it might have a greater effect on kids from places like Puerto Rico more.

I want job protection like Angel Hernandez has job protection. Of course that means I would suck at my job but hey I guess I'm employed. Which is probably what Hernandez thinks.

Jomboy is the best. Like half my YouTube views are his videos.
It won’t happen due to his language and some other stuff but I wish MLB would promote him and give him a platform. His videos are what people like to see with baseball and I think he’d help with fan interest overall

On another note, wonder how many no hitters we’ll get this year. With baseball now being pretty much fully homerun, strikeout, or walk I could definitely see it being pretty high. Three already and it’s the first week of May
