I think it’s a Fran requirement that most hawk players have rodent like features.
In all honesty this is merely a nothing move. I certainly do wish the scholarship would have been filled by somebody better but at this point I think it was just a gesture towards the kid rather than leave a scholarship unused for the season. More or less another result of Fran not knowing how to take advantage of the transfer portal at all.

There's another D1 program nearby that can give an accurate assessment of having two small guards in the starting lineup.
Fran and assistants were seen watching IM games on campus hoping they can some get a couple bodies to fill the roster.
Time will tell on what this move *actually* means, but the timing of this and the fact that Iowa hasn’t done well bringing in guards from the portal makes me think that Fran believes in his mind that Ash is going to contribute.
People keep saying this (including you right here) that Ash is “receiving” a scholarship… Well he was already on scholarship last year. So reading between the lines, there’s no way Austin comes back to Iowa unless he’s going to receive some sort of playing time. It may not be significant, but he’ll probably be in the rotation. Austin originally transferred because he wanted to actually play college basketball. It looks like he’s about to get his shot.
idk why people are bashing Ash, he scored as many as the starting 1-3 in the Oregon game.
Got a text from a buddy this morning who is an Iowa fan. He's convinced Fran is now just actively trolling the fanbase.
There are better players than Ash playing at the rec center in Iowa City and Ames right now. That is 100% a fact.
Not saying this will happen - But coaches that have kids on the team IA (2) on scolly really have two open scollys open to give at anytime if something if a stud falls in their lap. I'm sure there is a roster size that would challenge this
Connor has been on the team for 4 years and hasn’t ever been taken off scholarship in order to add a stud player. I’m not saying Fran wouldn’t do that, but getting a stud via the portal is not going to happen.
I think people (most Iowa fans) are going to be incredibly surprised with just how important Luka was to the team.
