From Brent's Blum's column: Kirk Haaland noted, there were 49 points scored by Cyclones in this one game. For reference, former Iowa players have scored 159 points in the NBA since the year 2017. Just for reference, of course.

Bahahahahahaha thhaaaank you basketball Gods!!!

Really great to see Georges doing well in Utah, and maybe he will get rewarded with new contract next year. And Iceman, wow! Making most of his minutes, no misses! Way to go Matt!

What can we say about Tyrease? Rookie of the year?

Georges should be getting a FAT deal this summer maybe as a 6th man on a mediocre team. He logged quality minutes on maybe the best team in the nba this year in the Jazz. He has really turned out to be a better pro than I would have guessed. I shouldn't be surprised though - he's just a pure shot maker. His 3 % is like 41% on the season. That's an elite shooter for a bench guy

I remember Walters was asked abt Georges going to the NBA and would he be successful, was he athletic enough, etc. Walters said something like: "at some point, being good at basketball should have something to do with being good at basketball".

Thrilled he is having success, seems like a fine young man and a good person. On top of being good at basketball.

I know, right? I get that the idea was that maybe he wouldn't be able to compete with NBA caliber athletes, but at the end of the day if you take the basketball and make it go through the hoop at a high clip and aren't a liability on defense or turnover machine, you're going to get paid.

I missed the game, but holy cow Matt scored 17 points in 9 minutes shooting <checks notes> 100% from the field.

Selfishly I'd love to see him be retained by the Jazz in the role he is in, or maybe they let a similar player go and he gets a bigger role with them. Don't know the contract situations of say a Royce O'Neal or Boban Boganavic, but maybe one of them leaves and Georges can keep playing for one of the best teams in basketball
