The Fran fade

I guess Fran is a believer in the portal after all. Yeah, this guy will probably be marginal- decent for them, but I bet he lights us up for 30/15 this upcoming season and suddenly am questioning if adding this guy pushed the outcome of the game back in their favor.

A guy that was second team all-Summit League surely can't be overlooked.

Throwing out level of competition, his metrics are better than anyone TJ has brought in to date, in terms of transfers. Not saying he is or will be better than guys like Kalscheur or Enaruna, or maybe even Kunc, but on paper he looks like a solid add in comparison to TJs transfers. TJs transfers have come from power-conference schools at least, so you like that they are proven commodities at this level. All will depend on how Filip (he spells that wrong btw) transitions to the Big 10/P6 level competition. Maybe he won't be able to hack it and be a bust. For sure he probably won't be a 16/9 guy. but I would be surprised if any of ISU's transfers put up numbers like that either.

It's mind boggling just how horrific Iowa's PR department still is.
As bad as it is, I am surprised they are able to pull in any transfers, let alone recruits in general. They must find the kids that have their heads buried in sand.

Wanna hear a crazy stat?
Iowa & Iowa State players drafted since 2000:
16 combined
Players from Iowa: 1 “insert laughing emoji”
Players from Iowa State: 15
The funny thing is the one Iowa player that got drafted hates Iowa so much and won’t watch their games.

They have actually had three second round picks in 20 years: White, Marble, Hulska. Not much better I know

IIRC, White was selected in the late second round. His "advisers" told him he would have a better shot making a roster if he refused the pick and went free agent.

From White's wiki:
On June 25, 2015, White was selected with the 49th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards.[6] He later joined the Wizards for the 2015 NBA Summer League[7] where he averaged 3.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in six games.[8] On July 26, 2015, he signed a one-year deal with Telekom Baskets Bonn of the Basketball Bundesliga. In June 2016, his contract expired and he left the team in pursuit of an NBA contract with the team that drafted him the year prior, the Washington Wizards.[9][10] In five games played for the Wizards in the 2016 NBA Summer League, he averaged 7.2 points and 5.2 rebounds.

So, he was drafted and played a total of six games in the G league and five games in the NBA.
