Hunter Reaffirms Commitment

I am surprised people still complain about thread topic discipline on here.

This place has always been about meandering the subject here and there.

That sounds great, but please start a JT thread for them.

I am a meandering, wondering soul! For JT it's worth it!

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high

Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think, I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming
I can hear them say

That's probably a good idea. I might just do that.

I was kind of hoping our new guards: Tyrese H, Tamin L, and Eli K might read this and would look up both Jamaal T and Jason W. It couldn't hurt their overall 'guard' education/ cirriculum!

Probably been posted a million times. But I can't wait until Tyrese gets his first chance in the open court to attack the rim. So excited that he stuck with Iowa State.

Really glad you posted this again! I hadn't seen it in awhile. Agree, so glad Tyrese wanted to stay a Cyclone. We are gonna love watching this this guy! I'm so excited.

He already has some Jamaal Tinsley in his game which is saying a lot. I saw some misdirection, some double-pump no-look passes, and even a couple of bounce passes between defenders legs. I had to look twice to confirm.

And you're right, he can attack the rim!!

While we are celebrating the commitment of Izaiah Brockington, the "crown jewel" of our 2021 recruiting class just got well-deserved recognition from 247. When he committed to ISU in Aug. 2020, he ranked around #80. It's been pretty impressive to see him leap into the top 40. I have no doubt he will only get better when he gets here.

By the way, Tyrese Hunter also ranks #37 in the ESPN recruit rankings.

The following is copied from the 247 website.

247's Top 10 ranked recruits in ISU MBB history (internet ranking era)

1. Craig Brackins
2. Lindell Wigginton
3. Tyrese Hunter
4. Talen Horton-Tucker
5. Matt Thomas
6. Georges Niang
7. Rahshon Clark
8. Xavier Foster
9. Chris Colvin
10. Monte Morris
Bonus
11. Eli King

Note: The current and future players are marked in bold.

That % hasn't been updated lately.

He still might pass Wigginton and/or Brackins.

Whoa, who's number 3? Kane?
We have had some great ones. Most of you won’t remember The Roland Rocket, or likely even Jeff Hornacek. Deandre Kane, Jamaal Tinsley, oh yeah, and the skinny kid playing in the NBA? I love Monte’s game and he is one of the greatest of all time. The greatest? Good dan debate.

Was Fizer here before those rankings started?

I think TJ went out and got exactly what Hunter needs to maximize his development and turn himself into the true leader of this team in the quickest manner possible, a pair of hard-nosed senior backcourt mates.

FIFY bolded are CSP recruits. I am excited as anyone about the the future of MBB and TJO. I get a little discouraged when there is continuing CSP bashing and the above is my admittedly childish reaction to it. Saying that I think it's time to just look forward, TJO is our coach and all want the program to succeed.

For those that don't think stars and recruit ranking matter. That is basically the top basketball players at Iowa State in the last 20 years. Now the order may be off and Chris Colvin didn't pan out. However, Foster , Hunter and king still have to prove themselves but basically the experts are pretty good at their jobs of evaluating players.

5,6,10 (21 total) played together and did pretty well. Next year we will have
3,8,11 (22 total) playing together. Let's hope they can do as well or better.
