The Fran fade

Iowa reached on him. I know Iowa fans aren't going to want to hear that. But they were holding out on offering this guy and ended up having to pull the trigger. Would be a nice pickup if he were going to be a backup C, but he'll likely be starting.
Didn’t have a choice imo. They’re going to suck either way.

If he's a reach what do you call all of our transfers? He has a better track record than several of ours, arguably the whole list.

Edit: His PRPG! last year was 2.4 with a 2.8 the previous year.

Highest numbers from any of our transfers are FR/SO years Kalscheur with a 2.4 and 2.1 and Kunc with a 2.0 last year. It's really alright, you can acknowledge the Hawks got a solid transfer.

Depending on the service, he’d be our highest or second highest rated transfer. He and GK change places between like 95-110 IIRC. I haven’t seen any of our other guys show up in Top 150s at any site. For comparison, today I saw Rasir at 37 and JCL at 78. TBF, there are places neither Rebraca nor any of our guys coming in show up at all. The lists are wildly inconsistent between sites. So take everything with a grain of salt.

He’s a nunge replacement. They still have to replace 56 points per game between Wieskamp, Garza, Bobo, and Frederick. Not gonna happen. And they’re all excited about their bench warming guards which none of them played more than 7 minutes per game except for Toussaint who couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat.

Does PRPG get adjusted for team success? Because his team was also 276th on barttorvik. Not sure if it makes sense to equate those numbers when Gabe and Jaz played at high majors and Grill in one of the better mid major conferences. He’s better than Jones but other than that I’m not sure I’d take him over any of our transfers

Hopefully we can cap this transfer class off with Ej Onu.
I’m not asking this to be snarky, because I don’t have any idea how good he is. But does anybody know of any examples of guys transferring from an NAIA school to a high major, or even just D1 in general? We’ve seen more D2 and even some D3 guys move up recently but I can’t recall that ever happening.

Saying Iowa reached for him doesn’t mean this guy isn’t a solid player. I think he is. He’s just not big 10 starter quality. That’s why Iowa waited so long to take him too, as they’ve been in discussions with him for a while and had yet to even offer.

We realistically wouldn’t take a guy like Filip nor did we even consider taking Filip himself, as we already have two Centers in Foster and Conditt and Filip wanted to go somewhere where he could start right away.
