Caleb Grill is Returning to Iowa State

It is kinda wild that between the transfer rule and the covid rulings that Grill basically never left as far as his eligibility goes. It's like we're BYU and sent him on an excursion or something
We sent him to Vegas to to preach the lord’s word in the land of heathens.

I was bummed because at the time it seemed like we didn't handle his injury correctly.
His family (mostly mom) had nothing but great things to say about ISU before, during, and after his first time here. They kept it classy.

I know he left and all but his liking ISU and demeanor make this a 'culture setting' type of landing that I think is important.

Some form of 'this is what we do, especially in Hilton' feel would be great next year.

I thought all players are immediately eligible.

Is there a circumstance where they aren't?

I have same question. Thought I read somewhere where a transfer who got immediate eligibility, it could only apply one time. Now whether the Covid rule alleviates that, idk.

I thought all players that are transferring for their first time are immediately eligible. I don't know about players transferring for their second time.

Pretty excited about getting him back. Got a lot better when he left and now we get him back. Not sure how anyone could not like this pickup. By the way, am I the only one who feels like he should be a 5th year senior and not a junior?

I think people are a little hesitant because he was pretty raw the one year he was year. And, fair or not, him being a Prohm recruit probably sours some people.

I like it. He always played his ass off when he was in games. Not expecting him to be "the man" , but hoping he can grow into a good role player the way Mooney was for Tech a few years ago.

He was a guy that came to Ames with all the tools to help ISU, but for some reason just could not make a shot his freshman year, despite being a gunner in HS. Sounds like he got his shot back at UNLV, and a lot of experiences too. Glad to have him back. Loved he hustle he had. Something we didn't see enough of the last 2 years.
