Funny thing on this is Fran thought they had a really good shot to land him
He probably gave him the classic we had a top 5 team but tied for 32nd pitch.
Who the heck would want to play for that raging maniac? Only kids who grew up die-hard Hok fans, kids with no other D1 options, his progeny, or some who enjoy the fact they will be the alpha among a bunch of scrubs. Pretty much all his recruits fall in one of those buckets.
Neither would have started at Iowa. Fran was too busy giving minutes to Cmac and JorBo. They would have been coming off the bench after Pmac and Murray.
A transfer picked Oakland over Iowa State lol.

I think Iowa fans mostly understand this as well even if they don’t admit it. I personally would have a hard time relating to Fran if I was a recruit. Kids these days don’t normally relate to a out of control coach like Fran. This isn’t the 70s. Kids like to have it their way nowadays and that’s what you gotta give. Coach’s can’t be my way or the highway anymore.
Honestly is the Murray that plays good enough to warrant 2 scholarships?

So the best season ever could have been even better had truly elite players even considered going to Iowa.
