CFTV: Jeff Myers on the o-line’s development entering spring 2021

Y’know, I remember the doubters when CMC promoted this kid to a full time coach. The progression from certain corners went something like this:

Heavy sigh. “Well, Coach Manning will be able to help him out.”

“Coach Manning is gone? Myers is over his head!”

“Coach Manning is back! He’ll be able to help Coach Myers with the OL!”

All the while, this young man was just working hard and ding his job. Bringing in better talent and coaching it up.

I like Jeff Myers. Loved listening to that well spoken, thoughtfully considered interview. I’m glad he’s our OL coach.

He played lots of games in this system and knows it as well as anyone. I was never worried. Oline is the hardest position group to develop.
It is one of the most detailed oriented positions in football. Plus, when you mess up it is amplified out in the open for everyone to see. We would joke with our lineman that they performed the perfect blocks. The lookout block. That’s where the defensive man runs past you and you turn around and holler “lookout”. And the matador block. Self explanatory.

Myers packs more content into an interview than just about anybody else. Tons of insight. No coach-speak. Frankly, I'm surprised that Coach Campbell lets him talk so freely. Great stuff.

Maybe someday we will learn CMC is a ******* genius and knows exactly where guys should be on his staff.

Really looking forward to seeing the bigger roles of Scheelhause and the TE's coach that's slipping my mind. Both up and comers

I would love to see Miller and Treiber get some playing time this season. I got to see Miller play some in highschool and I can tell you the dude is really athletic. He needs to get better with his footwork but that's something I'm sure he's working on. Miller may be playing on Sundays.
