The Fran fade

Was 2014-15 ISU deserving of a final ranking in your opinion?
Let me compare our top 25 W-L record and conference tournament results to yours and I’ll get back to you. I’ll also do the theoretical “if we played UAB 10 times” and the “if the hoks played Oregon 10 times” mental exercise just for ***** and giggles.

Or you could do UAB and Grand Canyon 10 times. That would be the comparison wouldn’t it?

So now that Fran has underachieved again and the embarrassment that was Oregon stomping Herky I have several question for the Hawk "contributors":
1-Did the team deliver the results you expected, are you satisficed with the season?
2-With the fact pattern demonstrating the Big10 did not remotely warrant the rankings and seeds in the dance, where should Iowa be ranked now?
1. No. It was Sweet 16 or bust.
2. 16-15
They can’t make it out of the 2nd round but should be 15-16? Seems legit.

WTF are you talking about? Comprehend reading much?

Here was Texas Tech’s path to the NC game before playing UVA:

N Kentucky
Buffalo (with Oats still there)
Michigan
Gonzaga
Michigan State

Seems they weren’t fazed by their path and took care of business
Man, the Michigan schools got DEEEEEEEEEEstroyed.

You didn't. That was @awd4cy. You didn't like I created the thread and nailed it though. I still like you Curt it's all good

Trust me I want Iowa to fail more than anyone, but I also don't want to jinx it.

Example: I didn't pay any attention to their game yesterday, then my wife texts me:

wife - "Iowa getting their ass kicked by Oregon lol"

me -"Oh"

wife - "Thought you'd be happy about that"

me - "don't want to jinx it"

End of conversation lol

I hope you recorded it. It was funnier than any comedy movie I've ever watched.

Bad matchups can create problems, but if you're an "elite" team like Iowa thinks they are, they should at least be in the game until the end. They got their ******* doors blown off. 63-0 back court? Endless amounts of non contested dunks? That wasn't due to a "bad match up". Unless by bad match up, they mean, the other team was way better. LOL.... I guess Kentucky was a bad match up for Iowa State in the round of 32 with Royce White?

I never said they'd be a sweet 16 team, but they had a better year than I want them to.

National player of the year and one of the oldest + most experienced teams in college basketball in a year Covid favored teams with continuity. They went 1-5 against the really good teams on their schedule, went 1-1 in the conference tournament, didn't make it past the Round of 32, and their point guard made a mockery of himself along the way.

As a rival fan, that went about as well as I could of hoped at the beginning of the year. The deck was stacked in Fran's favor and he failed again but still earned a fat extension in the process.

But they had bad matchups against the other good teams in the big 10.

Lol at the "bad matchup" excuse I keep hearing on KXno. "Bad matchups" are for teams that are of similar perceived talent where one style of play just wins out. 8vs9 seeds, 7vs10, 4vs5 in the second round, 3vs2 in the sweet sixteen...that's when a "bad matchup" excuse holds weight. Not when you're a 2 seed and get your doors blown off by a 7 seed lololol

Don’t feel bad, at least you have Fran wrapped up for another 7 years.

You guys went winless in a down b12? Yikes
Yeah. That's true. It doesn't make sense not admitting the truth about it.

Just like Iowa fans need to realize that (barring a freak accident) Mad Fran is never going to get them to the Sweet 16 or deeper and that Iowa will be fortunate indeed to even sniff the NCAA tournament next year now that it has blown its Luka wad. That mid major roster is going to stink it up.
