That’s all well and good, until you look at the minutes played, and the fact Basabe started.

So now that Fran has underachieved again and the embarrassment that was Oregon stomping Herky I have several question for the Hawk "contributors":
1-Did the team deliver the results you expected, are you satisficed with the season?
2-With the fact pattern demonstrating the Big10 did not remotely warrant the rankings and seeds in the dance, where should Iowa be ranked now?

1. No. It was Sweet 16 or bust.
2. 16-15

It was so obvious this year (and most years) that the B1G was a colossal disappointment.

Overrated this year (and most years). The Hoks were terribly overhyped and overvalued. They played to their ability: A round of 32 team. They were nothing better than that. The media swung and missed badly on this.

I'm not ready to anoint Keegan just yet. He showed a lot of promise as a freshman that no one else wanted and played meaningful minutes on a good team. Will see how he does as defenses will now game plan around him and he is more of a focal point.
No doubt the kid was a great pleasant surprise and filled a lot of needs for Iowa this year. But with Garza alone leaving, everything is going to get way more difficult for everybody. Getting offensive boards or put backs when Garza is on the floor is one thing. If JW is gone that’s another issue. I do think he can be very good - great hustle and good instinct. But there might be a year or two of rough sailing adjusting to the post Garza era.

I do think Illinois and Mich are pretty legit. The rest were not much more worthy of 5-10 seeds. If the traditional bluebloods were around these B1G seeds would have been much lower.

Yeah, these idiots don't understand how much harder it will be for everyone else to score next year when the other team's attention is not all on Garza. They got a taste of it in the NCAA tournament and you saw what they could do when they were being guarded.

Even JW got a lot of open shots due to Garza being there. If he stays he'll have to create his own shots next year, so he better practice a ton of fake injuries for when he gets his pocket picked. It's going to be ugly.
