I disagree. I think the defense will be better next year.
You thinking that, as well as thinking you’ll make a sweet 16 in two years is not any different than some ISU fans thinking we will be a good team next year. Could they all happen? Yes. Will any of them happen? Probably not.

The Cyclones just won zero conference games and only won 2 games all season, and 50 of you think ISU is going to be better than Iowa next year. I'll have a double dose of whatever you 50 are taking.
There are Iowa fans saying you’ll make the Sweet 16 in two years. It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the “best Iowa team ever” with a national POY on the team got boat raced by a 7 seed in the second round.

Safe to say both fan bases are overly optimistic.

Frank hasn’t been training Josh. Josh and Luka worked out with each other over the summer, but Josh is on his own now.
Also, was Luka working out in IA City last summer? I thought it was gyms that Frank secured to use on the East coast?
I don't have a problem with Frank doing that for Luka but is that permissible for Josh, especially during a pandemic?

I think it’s fine considering they’re teammates.

Prohm was 1-17 in two score games the last two years. Go .500 and things don't look as bleak. I am optimistically hoping TJ is a better in game coach, prepares and puts the players in better positions and the "luck" factor balances out. If ISU can win the gimme games (7-8 wins), be better than .500 in close games (5-6 wins), and pull a couple of upsets, that could get you to 13-16 wins with an average team. If they can get a decent (or two) transfer, they could grab a couple more and maybe be close to the bubble at 17-18 wins.
I am an eternal optimist. Maybe none of this will happen, but it COULD happen.

Next season will be interesting for both teams. I have no idea what to expect from either.

Not even sure how you could at this point. Players are leaving ISU and TJ is trying to clean house. Won't even call one of the Prohm commits. Will see if he is able to attract any high end transfer talent. Iowa's season hinges on whether or not Lil' Weezy comes back or not.

Right, but in comparison to Iowa who potentially has: Weiskamp, Frederick, and Ke. Murray all returning. IMO Murray has the tools to be great, so it will be interesting to see what kind of work he puts in during the off season. Patrick Mac has had flashes as well. I don't think Iowa is going to have the success they did this year, but I think they'll be dancing and getting bounced before the Sweet Sixteen again next year.

Talent usually steps up and finds a way to win close games. The less talented teams usually finds a way to lose.

Kind of hard when you have no idea who will be on ISU next season still. I say Iowa has the better record, but we win head to head.

I don't follow Iowa but know they lose Garza and Jorbo and have seen that JW is probably leaving. I have no idea if their returning players are any good but know they don't get the attention that the three leaving do so assumed they would be .500 or slightly under.
