The Fran fade

Not too different from Iowa State going into the infamous UAB game. They had just finished that stretch of like 5-6 games in a row coming back from a double digit deficit, won the Big 12 tournament, then came into the opening round way over confident. It happens.

Ugh...the "frosted tips" game. Who could forget. Ruined March Madness for me that year.

If JorBo was an Iowa State player, I'd be a fan of his shenanigans.

Well it is time for Chad to spend a lot of time cheerleading Iowa.
You like ********--really arrogant ********. Color me not impressed. Georges could be cheeky with style and panache and still not an *******. Jorbo is naught but an arrogant, entitled punk whose life is effectively now over.

No idea why Iowa is playing the style they do. The players don't fit the style at all. They played the exact way Oregon is best at playing. They should walk the ball up the court and feed Garza and play the slow down game. I am no coach but I also could see the difference in athletes that Oregon had.

This. I would taze JorBo and Cmac every trip down the floor that Garza didn't touch the ball.

The biggest difference is our flop was sandwiched between 2 Sweet 16 finishes.

Funny how these come out AFTER the game. Zero chance he says this if they win. Just say you lost to a better team. Fran needs to look in the mirror, he got out coached and completely laid over and died rather than rally the team. 8 more years!!
Yeah, I'm sure he's lying about Connor's injuries. We've had many players play through injuries that weren't made public until after the season (Solomon, Naz, Thomas come to mind). It's pretty common. I think he's trying to protect those players from the fans base killing them rather than making excuses.

This loss is on the team. They got cocky and were arrogant. If they kept a quiet attitude, they wouldn’t look as stupid and terrible after the loss.
Cocky and arrogant? Nothing new there. We’ll fix cocky and arrogant next September at Jack Trice.

I knew that would happen. It’s the ole rust vs. rest argument that either side uses to help their narrative after a loss.
Who knows. They definitely didn't look rusty though. Great gameplan by Altman, he's a great coach. He let Garza get his and exposed our biggest weaknesses. It was going to happen at some point if not today.

The Jbo and CMac lovefest continues on HR. Lots of posts about being "too white" on this one:

Starting guard score Oregon 63 Iowa 0

I knew Hok Guards would come through at some point but Holy Boat Raced Batman - 63-0 at the guard position? I dare someone to find one game, any level, anywhere with that kind of disparity.

Maybe I imagined this, but didn't Jake Sullivan play with two torn ACLs and didn't tell anybody until after his career was over?
