Yes I know about Jordan's Hilton shoes, but being 100% real here, can the players write messages on their shoes, headbands, etc to get some camera action and announcer mentions?
Yeah that's what I'm wondering too. I know the NBA allows it, not sure about NCAA. NCAA told Tebow to stop putting scripture #'s on his eye black years ago.Players used to write messages on their shoes frequently. I wonder if they can still do that?
How do you suppose we pay student athletes? Every athlete will need to get paid. Doesn’t matter the sport. Even ones who generate a lot less money such as cross country, tennis, and golf to name a few. Would they make the same amount of money. Would a kid such as Cade Cunningham make as much as a tennis player from Drake? How do you suppose this would work? I agree they need to get some form of compensation, but this is a very slippery slope. The financials would be very complicated.I personally am on the side of the players. These are young men, that many of them are not privileged, most of them will never earn a dime of money in the sport they play in college, and may never have the ability to make this kind of money again in their lives. So instead of money going to the players who provide the product, the NCAA is getting rich, and trying to protect that money. Amateurism is just a way for the NCAA to get away with paying basically nothing to secure the service of it's player who drive the product.

The $6 Billion Heist: Robbing College Athletes Under the Guise of Amateurism
The NCPA and the Drexel University Sport Management Department released the findings of a joint study showing that the NCAA uses amateurism as a tool to deny revenue athletes billions of dollars per year that they would otherwise receive in a fair market.www.ncpanow.org
If I was to take a swing at this, I'd say they won't be consulting with any of us here. It is going to get really complicated and I wouldn't want to be the one making those decisions. No way it can be done without really pissing some people off.How do you suppose we pay student athletes? Every athlete will need to get paid. Doesn’t matter the sport. I’m not trying to be an ass, but you do realize how bad ISU was this year don’t you?Do we make the tourney if we got to play in the Big Ten?
Yeah but getting to play a ton of bad teams would have helped immenselyI’m not trying to be an ass, but you do realize how bad ISU was this year don’t you?
How many bad teams are in the Big 10? Only ones I can think of are Nebby, Minnesota, NU, PSU, and Indiana.Yeah but getting to play a ton of bad teams would have helped immensely
Purdue, Ohio State, and Michigan State as well. How many bad teams are in the Big 10? Only ones I can think of are Nebby, Minnesota, NU, PSU, and Indiana.
How are they bad?Purdue, Ohio State, and Michigan State so far.
They lost to Oral Roberts and North Texas. Those teams weren’t even the best in their sub-par conferences. How are they bad?
