Random Thoughts 15: Crystal Clear 2021 Edition

I said last night these JP videos seem to be focused on nursing home residents. So slow and measured delivery that occasionally he stumbles because he forgot what he was going to say next. I think they used YT's auto captioning and didn't spend the time to correct it either. Tsk tsk for an ISU entity. Not a fan.

I couldn't even finish listening to it. I am generally sort of neutral on our AD but that was bad.

I think he does a great job on the fiscal side of things, keeping the department running and doing better on the facilities side of things that might be expected at a small state public school with no athletic tradition or an overabundance of big shot donors. He does come off as pretty arrogant though and sometimes condescending.

I’m looking at buying a Kreg Jig K5 master system. I see there $169 on Amazon. Thoughts? I looked into the the K4 but a buddy recommended the K5 Looks cheaper at Walmart right now...

Yeah, stuff is ridiculous right now. 7/16" OSB is $36+ per sheet. One piece of 2x10-12' in fir is almost $30.

An 8' 2x4 is over $7. That's more than double what they were a year ago.

Oh well hopefully I'll be there for the 1st game of the TJ era. Depends if I make the cut on the ticket list. Now that he is our coach all I want for him is success.

I’m working on Goliath now. Not bad, not sure if this is strictly a one season thing or if they can flip it to multiple seasons.

EDIT: nevermind, I see it’s 3 seasons already but prime only has one.

Sorry everyone, I've been completely off my game this year. I assumed everyone could access the tourney pool without an invite like previous years, but I guess they must have changed things a bit. I just sent out invites again. If someone wants to attach the E-mail link they receive, people can still join if they want to throw in a bracket.

I found season 1 pretty good. Watched season 2, not as good. Did not bother with season 3. At least they sorta conclude the storyline each season so you can just easily drop it. Faded fast IMHO.

Forgot how difficult the U of I campus is to navigate.

3 summers ago I spent a few weeks doing research at the U of I campus learning how to purify a protein for a project I now run here in Cedar Rapids.
The parking options are limited and expensive. Trying to find a good place to park that is free and within easy walking distance was quite the process.
