ESPN & NY Times Reporting CC to Sign with Yankees

Imagine if CC gets off to a similar start to 2009 that he did in 2008. Or if his postseason performances don't improve. We'll be able to hear the booing from here.

C.C. will eat his way out of the big leagues in less the 4 years. The over/under is at 3.5 years.

Especially now that he has even more money.

I actually think in some ways him being a bigger guy makes him more durable. Sounds messed up, but I'd be inclined to believe it helps him with the way he pitches.

I agree 100% and said that in another thread. He will be pitching longer than Lincecum, I promise you that...

I think when you are young it helps. When you get a little old it really works against you. Look at Rocket Clemons. He was a fat Toad at Boston. He then realized that it did not work any longer. Then he started working out and finished off his career as a work out monster (Juice).

I don't care if CC was the most physically fit person on the planet. I'd be nervous about giving a pitcher 7 years.

The report I'm seeing says 7 years and $160 mil.

Let's see...

that's about $22.8 million per year.

Let's say he pitches 30 games per year at 100 pitches per game. 3,000 pitches per year.

That's comes out to about $7000 per pitch.

Good work if you can get it.
