The Fran fade

There's some gigantic tone deafness in the athletic department that comes from the top down and not to drag this out all damn day but Iowa could do 10x better than him.
I don't think he's really responsible for most of the success you've mentioned. Did he hire Brands, Bluder, or Ferentz?

Hiring isn't easy. Iowa fans weren't exactly enamored with finding out about Fran's contract extension a few years ago when the Register reported it.

Barta did not hire any of those three you listed. Brands was hired by Bowlsby just a few months before he left for Stanford. Hopefully, when UI hires a new President he/she wants a new AD.

Hopefully you get a good Prez this time. One that won't be afraid to fire racists, homophobes, and their enablers.

Whoa! First ISU fan I've seen admit that JorBo is a good player.

He's a really good player when playing his natural role. He's comparable to Jake Sullivan, Sullivan played some point some years but he was best when he played with another point guard off the ball. Small elite shooter, same weakness with foot speed on D against elite fast guards.

I'm sure some ISU fan will take issue with that, I'm not saying he's better than Sullivan (I think Sullivan might still have some shooting records in Big 12 play), but they are comparable kinds of players.

There's also the truth that if JoBo or Connor played for other teams Iowa fans would also hate them, they aren't likable personalities. Hogue wasn't a likable player from ISU unless you were an ISU fan, he played a little dirty. With JoBo it's more the off the court comments that are almost comically unlikable.

So now 3 time All Conference players are bad. So Bolton must beyond bad, he hasn't been All Conference 3 times.
Getting All Conference in the Big Ten isn't impressive. Hell Fran finished in the top half of the Big Ten 4 years and didn't even make the tourney

No, not even with a Top 25 football program, Men's Bball getting a #2 seed, Wbball in solid standing, Wrestling program poised to win a National Title and baseball in good shape.

It is an ROI thing - thinking of it as investing in racism, sexual assault, discrimination and law suits to get mediocre results for a P5 program.

Jake would go inside the arc more than Jordan but without comparing their stats your comparison might not be too far off.

Bingo! Players like Jordan, Connor, Niang are all players only the fanbases like. Everyone else despises them because they come off douche.

Trying to claim Jordan is bad just show a lack of any basketball knowledge. He is a good assist man, and excellent 3 point shooter, and always will knock down important FT's. He isn't a great defender, but that is why he isn't a 1st team All Conference player, he has a hole in his game like 95% of players out there. Jordan isn't big enough or quick enough to be a good defender, but he more than makes up for it be being good at several other things.

Lol Niang got a standing ovation in Allen Fieldhouse

This post proves you are a moron. Literally Niang got a standing O at KU in his last game there. JFC. You are terrible at this.

Big10 is a tougher league and has more teams in it. Much tougher to get on a Big10 All Conference team than in the Big12.

Why hello Captain Obvious. How did you ever figure that one out?

There's some truth to that.

There's also some truth that the Big Ten would need 10-11 NCAA teams every single year to be as deep as the Big 12 typically is.

(hint: the Big 12 is always significantly deeper in part because the Big Ten took the worst program of all time away from the Big 12)

It's the same math.

It's a stretch to call JoBo a "3 time All Big Ten player" the way that troll is though. They give a million honorable mentions and it's easy to nab one. Agree that getting 1st or 2nd team in a 14 team top league is harder than getting 1st or 2nd team in a 10 team top league.

Only looking at this seasons all conference teams it was harder to earn all conference honors in the B1G.

Coaches Selections had 20 honorees for the B1G which included three teams and 5 honorable mention selections while the media had 26 honorees as they had 11 honorable mention players. The Big 12 had sixteen players earn 1st, 2nd or 3rd team and another fourteen earn honorable mention for a total of 30 all conference honorees.

I could only find the one list for the Big 12 and assume it is the coaches list.

You're off on Niang. Just the iowa fanbase disliked him. His last game at KU he was congratulated on a great career by their radio team, I believe they interviewed him. His last game at the B12 tourney, which was a loss to OU and Buddy Heild, Holly Rowe interviewed them together. The nation loved Niang. Now, CM and JB are douchebags and everyone hates them. That you're correct on.
