The Fran fade

Some Iowa basketball fun facts for you all to brighten up your saturday:
It has been 15 years since Iowa won a conference tournament
22 years since Iowa appeared in the Sweet 16
23 years since Iowa has had a player drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft
42 years since Iowa has won a regular season Big 10 title

and george raveling is their last coach to not hire a family member or have one ever play for them :)

Iowa is very good, but one thing is apparent...if I were doing a scouting report, I would tell each player that if they have Bohannon on them, drive at will. He just can't defend that. Their defensive holes will doom them, probably in the second round.

Bohanon hit some ridiculous deep 3's vs IL...Had IL been even average from 3 they would have won that game by 20..

Key to beating Iowa is not hard...You have to put your hand in face of JW and JB entire game...Both JW and JB do not score much when they have a guy in their face...I never understood watching teams play Iowa and they are afraid of JB or JW driving past them so they give them space.. 3 points is more than 2 points. let them drive.

Garza is going to get his no matter what...But if you can keep JW and JB from goign off from 3 you can beat Iowa.

The big 10 regular season title 42 years ago was a 4-way tie. You have to go back almost 50 years to the last time they really won the conference.

Fortunately for us we have had a lot more recent success. It actually feels weird not winning the big 12 tourney. It’s a new feeling. Hopefully things get back to normal soon.

Dude..Okie state has more wins vs the Current top 25 than any team in America...Current TOp 25. Who you beat in November and where they were ranked then is meaningless..

Texas has the roster and talent to make a deep run IMO...I doubt they do but they have the talent to.

Big 12 is putting 7 teams into the tourney...70% of the conference. BIg will probably get 9 teams in but shouldn't..

If this weren't the absolute weakest field in history of college bball BIG would prob only get 7 in this year.

These broadcasters are either biased or have an agenda. Big 12 has 7 ranked teams out of 10. B1G has 5 ranked teams out of 14. But yet all you hear on TV is B1G is best, is toughest, blah, blah, blah. Why?

Lol Kansas was in the final 4 in 2018, OU was in the final 4 in 2016, and Texas Tech literally went to OT with Virginia in the last national championship played.

If you’re gonna throw shade, be smart about it.
Dude, he thinks an NIT team is better than a possible 8/9 seeded NCAA team.

Big Ten would need to consistently have 10-11 tournament teams to match how deep the big 12 usually has been since neb/colorado dead weight left. The big 12 basically added a good program in WVU, got rid of the worst program in cbb history in nebraska, and another usually bad one in colorado.

Has it ever had 70% of the 14 teams?

Other than baylor and maybe kansas, the big 12 is a bunch of mediocre teams beating up on each other. Tech and Oklahoma just aren’t very good. Okie State has the #1 pick so they have a chance of making a run.
Odd take shared by nobody.
