Two G5 assistants and Betts is what I've heard. Trying to get their namesI’m not real sure who the candidates are atm.

Okay, that makes so much more sense. I mean the guy was a part time HS coordinator in 2016. Iowa needs to aim a lot higher.
I feel that a RB coach for college is mostly about recruiting. I would be fine with Betts if he proves to be a good recruiter with ties to the Florida area.
The dude has 3300 yards and played in the league for nine years. He will have instant cred with high school coaches and athletes like Fred did. I don't think it is as big a weakness with that CV.He has never recruited before in his life. That means he would literally be learning how to recruit on the job. It would be different if it was an Iowa HS coach where the state is small enough that most coaches know each other.

Pine Crest High school might not be able to beat some 8 man schools in IowaThis guy gets it. Plus he has ties to Florida and the KC area.

I am simply saying he will have built in credibility. I don't care if he has any success or not. This will be my last post on this because I can’t believe he is even a serious candidate. But I have no idea where you guys are getting this confidence in his ability to recruit from. I mean “he has ties to the KC area” he played there 25 years ago. How many contacts do you seriously think he has from that? This is the same things I always say when people want to hire Sage as a QB coach. Being a nameless guy who hung around in the league for a few years doesn’t compensate for actual coaching experience and networking.
He only had 3300 yards in 9 seasons. For some reason I thought he actually had a good careerThe dude has 3300 yards and played in the league for nine years. He will have instant cred with high school coaches and athletes like Fred did. I don't think it is as big a weakness with that CV.
I think as a RB lasting 9 seasons in the league is a good career. He only had 3300 yards in 9 seasons. For some reason I thought he actually had a good career
Well when you only produce 366 yards per year it's easy to stay healthyI think as a RB lasting 9 seasons in the league is a good career.

How about receiving yards? Also, he backed up Clinton Portis most of his career. The one year where he was the feature back he got over 1,000 yards.
So in 8 NFL seasons he only produced 2300 yards? Look at all that credibility he brings!
He seems like a candidate who could be promoted to a good high school program for surePlayed nine years in the NFL as a RB. Almost 5,000 yards from scrimmage. Pretty good if you ask me.
I know they're not going to hire Betts but this makes interviewing a high school coach even more funny to me
Seems like a self-downgrade.
