The Fran fade

In order from most likely to least likely to land
1. Tyler Nickel
2. Dasonte Bowen
3. Riley Mulvey
4. Demarion Watson
5. Will Shaver
6. Tarris Reed
7. Tre Holloman
8. Isaac Traudt

Nickel and Bowen are both 4 stars according to 247 along with being top 100 players. Mulvey is a 3 star center, but I think he’s going to end up more of a 4 in college, similar to Nunge. Watson is a 4 star and top 110 player, who has offers from Iowa, ISU, Florida, Creighton, Marquette, Mizzou, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Shaver is a 4 star, and is going to be a tough pull for us, but he’s a big fan of Luka Garza and the way Iowa plays. Reed is also a 4 star, and is currently a K-state lean but Iowa is definitely high on his list. Holloman has some big time offers, and it will be a battle the whole way through. Traudt is likely a Creighton guy.
I would add Eli King from Caledonia, MN to that list somewhere. I've heard that Iowa has more than a punchers chance there. I also think that Pitino is on his way out in MN so that could impact several recruits one way or the other. Minnesota is loaded with talent.

Nickel will replace Weiskamp
Agreed. I think Fran needs to take 2 big guys in this class, one of which will most likely be Mulvey. I’m hoping Will Shaver is the other one. Bowen is likely ours to lose, and I love his attitude and his all around game.

Forgot about him. He’s also pretty good himself.

And ISU will let him go for it. Deservedly so. It won't take ISU 11 seasons to get a good squad together.

Mr. Personality as of this writing has a B1G .500 record (including this season) in 10 years. 3 NCAA appearances in 10 years. His press conferences are spectacular, especially after a loss. Barta is a genius.

I am mixed on Fran. Some years, you want to get rid of him, other years they have good teams. This is obviously a good team and they have potential next year as well. Winning in the B10 is hard and Iowa has consistently had periods of highs and lows for decades. I don't ever recall them going winless in conference play though even with coach Lick. Prohm seems like a good human being, but obviously he has not been able to bring in and motivate players as his predecessor. Curious if someone like Foster will stay. Prohm is going to be gone and I don't see a tournament team on the radar anytime soon.

When’s the last time Iowa put together a solid recruiting class?

Yeah, I'm so triggered about Iowa's basketball season. I mean I could only wish that we had ISU's basketball trajectory instead of what we have at Iowa.
Bet you'd love to have the 2010s decade as part of your programs history though. Instead you got eye gouging, sword fighting and little McCaffrey's

With how the 2022 class looks, I’d say we’re going to be perfectly fine. Probably a rebuilding year next year, but I think we’ll still make the tourney.
You have zero commits. I think you guys could put together a solid NIT run next year though.
