The Fran fade

Hello 2076, I am beginning to notice a trend of you being extremely negative towards the Hawkeyes. Is there something about them you hate? I get that we are rival schools, but I feel like this form of hatred is unnecessary.

Ghok, you have inspired me in your short time here. I feel I need to reciprocate and learn to me more open and honest in my posts.

So here goes:

1) I will save you some time. In general I abhor the hok fan base. Not the individuals (mostly) but the fan base on the whole I feel is one of the most arrogant, condescending college fanbases in the country. So put me down being as being extremely negative to the hoks.
2) Since you have never been to a fan board, here is todays "Tip of the Day". If you think that heated banter between two rival fan bases and the hatred it foments is unnecessary, you may not want to hang around fan forum pages. We will understand if you leave.
3) Not sure if you have found the function yet but there is a very handy one you can use if/when you get offended by a poster on a site. For me, it is my go to play when you get a phony coward on here that hides behind multiple handles so they don't have to stand behind their viewpoints and comments. It is called the ignore button! Here, let's try it. Put your mouse cursor over my avatar (the picture of me in a kayak to the left), click it, and then select "Ignore Member"!

Just like I am doing to you now

Frjanuary fade? Soft J? Anyone?
Rutgers is a solid opponent and is a nice win. Not a great win but obviously better than a loss. MSU on the other hand is bad. Neither win though are grounds to say Iowa has figured it out. Everyone will get a good understanding of how Iowa is playing these next few weeks.

Maybe over simplifying it a bit but it pretty much comes down to shooting for them. There are no screws to tighten down on defense. Wins and losses for them will depend on whether the shooters are hitting outside shots and hitting them at the right time. In most of their losses they just haven't hit big shots when needed. The offense (Luka) almost always enables them to get good looks. They simply need to hit them.

Disagree. I think defense is the key for Iowa to finally get to the second weekend

Fair enough. They are a very good team that has lost some close games to very good and in some instances elite teams. This is the best B10 I can recall in my lifetime and no score really surprises me. I feel like Iowa could get bounced from NCAA tourney in the 2nd round or go to the F4. Definitely have not peaked yet so have to see if they can get hot. Frederick needs to play too and I am just not sure he's going to be available consistently. Obviously D is a liability.

Iowa can't make the Final 4

Athletic guards and a physical big are Iowa's kryptonite. That and playing away from Carver. When is the last impressive win away from Carver for Fran? Nuetral court against Tech in 11/2019?

I understand you have a role to play, but other than people with an agenda, the consensus is they can. Will they? Probably not, but other than Gonzaga I have not seen a team play that I think they would lose to more often than not. I have not seen Baylor play other than some highlights, but they look pretty good too. I think the B10 is going to have a real impact on the tournament. 7-8 really, really good teams.

I thought the B10 was pretty solid the year ISU played the Aaron Craft Buckeyes team.

In the Fran era, what would you say is Iowa basketball's greatest accomplishment?

The best of the best teams have elite guards. Iowa’s guards cannot handle the ball pressure and the team can’t defend well at all. The only way I see a Final Four appearance is if Iowa makes the elite 8 and their matchup is some cinderella 5-12 seed.

No really Iowa can't make the Final Four with that defense. I'm not trolling
