The Fran fade

Iowa's remaining schedule:
vs. #25 Rutgers
@ Michigan State
@ #21 Wisconsin
vs. Penn State
@ #4 Ohio State
@ #3 Michigan
vs. #21 Wisconsin

5/7 Q1 games
3 Q1a games

Being an ISU fans and expecting a kick in the nuts... I'm nervous that CJ gets healthy and they start winning...

On the flip side. They really could loose a minimum 5 games coming down the stretch and finish as a 6-7 seed

Honestly, he's the key to that team from what I've seen. You know what you're going to get from Garza. Weiscamp you know he's going to get his, although he can disappear at times from not being aggressive enough. Bohannon is streaky, Connor is streakier. Frederick is the one guy who if he's open, he's going to hit it. You absolutely cannot double off of him. They are way tougher to guard with him playing.

IMO even with CJ on the floor the recipe to beat Iowa is still there. You absolutely make life tough for Garza and concede the lower percentage shot. Between CJ, Weezy, and J-Bo any of those guys can fill it up on any given night. What kills Iowa is having Connor on the floor because you don't have to guard him and he's not getting to the rim.

It’s gonna be glorious

Can a guy only averaging 1 minute per game more than Connor Mac really be considered all that important?
Guy on CW's radio show last Friday tried to argue that he's (Frederick) Iowa's 2nd best player. It was an Iowa fan, too. I'm not sure what the general consensus is, but I would have to disagree and that it is Weiskamp. He's probably 3rd best though. Good shooter, but I couldn't tell you anything else he is especially good at. To me, he's a bigger, more consistent shooting version of Jorbo, minus the douche.

They have lost their last 4 of 5 and they are still #15. My take is that with all the blue bloods being down this year, the Big Ten is being treated by the media as THE conference in the country not unlike what they do with the SEC in football. So I wouldn't be surprised if they lose the next two that they will still be ranked. The media will more than likely just move Rutgers way up and probably move MSU into the rankings.
The ranking are all sorts of jacked up this year. OU was ranked 11 as of Saturday despite being 11-5. 11-5 does not scream almost top 10 to me, nor does the team I witnessed struggle to beat our (almost) hapless Cyclone team. It truly is Gonzaga, Baylor, and everyone else.

A 2-5 finish would have to push them at least to a 7, if not 8-10 range. There's a 6th loss in there if they still hold the conference tournament, too.

CJ won't be healthy the rest of the year I'm told

I still love Joe W’s game. I think he’s got so much potential but the guy needs to go to the Deandre Kane school of alpha males. He could take over games with his talent but he’ll disappear like Uthoff would.
@Gitwitit posted random college stats and compared Joe W with a player X that made the NBA and it took me 2 seconds to see he was stupidly comparing him with Matt Thomas. Thomas was skiddish when he first got to ISU but wasn’t at the end and Joe still feels like he’s almost the same player when he was a freshman.
