Iowa Football Recruiting

I mean a dozen former players are suing Kirk for being racist and 70 former players came forward saying he ran a racist program. So yeah calling a racist coach racist isn't extreme at all
I think we should wait until the conclusion of the lawsuit, no? But associating Kirk with the KKK (who kill/killed African-Americans) is pretty extreme lol

I am a long time viewer of this forum. Although I do not exactly like ISU, I like to stay in the loop w/ both in-state schools. Call me ignorant if you want, but what exactly makes Kirk Ferentz a racist? Are you basing it on the lawsuit from the group of Wadley, Martin-Manley, and Jonathan Parker? If so, that is ridiculous IMO. Wadley scammed hundreds of people out of their merch in which they paid for, Martin-Manley did the same exact thing, and Parker claimed that Iowa was racist because they "made" him eat medium-rare steak. It is pretty clear that this lawsuit is an attempt to make a quick buck.

If your basis is on the investigation that showed some racially insensitive behavior, I guess I can understand that. But, the vast majority of players said that Kirk was/is not the problem. Those issues that were found in the investigation that he did not clear up seemed to deal more with Kirk not caring to get rid of his no hoodie/jewelry rule in the football building. Was he in the wrong? Yes. But does that actually make him racist? C'mon.

I speak for myself when I say that I don’t think Kirk Ferentz is a racist. I just think he was willing to let racism, discrimination, and harassment from his staff go on because he didn’t care that much about it.

You should feel bad for supporting a racist program. Your defense and support of the racist reflects poorly on you
I thought Kirk and Brian both should have been fired when this initially came out. But, players have said that these changes internally have been made and they support Kirk so yes I support Iowa football.

I don't think that makes me ignorant, I think asking questions makes me the opposite of ignorant. I am genuinely asking your reasoning here because "KKKirk" is thrown around so much in this thread and am I crazy to think that's a bit extreme?
Okay, I'll bite. Pertaining to your original post, I think everyone on here that believes Kirk is a racist believes that due to the fact that he enabled a culture that treated African Americans differently. Iowa paid off Doyle to leave because there was a plethora of allegations in regards to his behavior. Doyle and Ferentz were essentially attached at the hip. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Ferentz knew everything that Doyle was doing.

I remember reading an article on David Duke when he ran for Senate. He didn't consider himself a racist.

Your concern on Ferentz' being unfairly portral as a Klansman when he's merely a racist rather than being outraged he's still employed is detestable.

Honest question here. What do you think of the rumor that Urban Meyer hired Doyle as the Director of Sports Performance in Jacksonville?
Urban Meyer is a complete and utter scumbag who's allegations are right there with Kirk's. Urban knew and lied about knowing that his assistant coach beat his wife. If Urban hired Doyle, that wouldn't shock anyone.

Although there is no actual evidence of that I can understand where you are coming from and I respect that. I do believe that Kirk has made changes and improved upon himself and the program, no?

All I am simply saying is that throwing that term around is pretty ridiculous lol.

How do you define evidence? Because there were about 70 people that came out with their displeasure of the Iowa football program. Husch-Blackwell found via interviews that the Iowa Football program had major issues that needed to be fixed. Chris Doyle does not get paid to leave if there was no evidence. He was the highest paid S&C coach, c'mon.

Just because Iowa's former President and AD didn't punish anyone outside of paying Doyle hush $$, it doesn't mean nothing happened. And how the hell would anyone know that these "changes" Kirk has made are going to last? Kirk, his staff and Iowa Football as a whole were under a microscope this year. He obviously wasn't going to keep doing what he was doing or allow what was being done.

No, no, I am saying evidence that Kirk knew exactly what Doyle was doing. The Doyle firing was definitely warranted. All I am saying is that I think the program is headed in the right direction and I am in full support of it. If these issues arise again, Kirk needs to be fired on the spot, it is as simple as that.

Doyle didn't get fired
