Iowa Football Recruiting

And here you go again - We are not even talking about Iowa winning a conference or being 2nd in the conference, we are talking about the B1G West. Oh, I know you will equate the B1G West to the Big XII, but it ain't.

I do expect that as long as CMC is ISU, they will be in the CCG as often as they are not. Can he get over the hump and win a few, we'll find out soon enough.

I don't expect to see Iowa in the CCG more than once every 10 years because they have to figure out how to win their division first.

Put yet another way, ISU is on a trajectory to be one of the top 2 teams in the B1G XII, Iowa continues on a path that places them in the top 5-6 of the B1G.
I think your window is short. Once Texas figures their **** out it will be them vs Oklahoma more years than not

It is crazy that after just 1 good year ISU fans think it is easy sailing to 10+ wins every year. The thing is this attitude will get even more prevalent when they do have another good year this year as well.

I love your optimism, but ISU isn't going to be in the Big12 CCG more years than they aren't. ISU had the exact same team last year and he won 7 games. It takes time to develop guys, when you just aren't rolling out top 20 recruiting classes all the time. Kolar, Purdy, Hall, all the weapons were in Ames in '19, but the OL wasn't there, that is what happens you have have to develop players it takes a Foster 5 years just to be decent for example.

You can keep your head in the sand and think that a 2 year stretch will last 10, but your bubble is going to be burst. It isn't like CMC put out a great team even as fast as KF did, and then KF had an awesome 3 year run, and then the air came out of the bubble, that is what happens. Teams rise all the time in college football for a year or two, but keeping that going is hard as hell.

You’re actually here propping up Kirk, this really speaks volumes about your character. You’re literally saying you are ok with racism, sexism, etc with every single post.

So NOW your defense of Iowa's Recruiting (don't let the thread title confuse you) is that ISU's success is not sustainable. Your first paragraph confuses me, are you saying ISU won't be as good because it takes time to develop players and that CMC hasn't had time to develop players? I mean, everyone is back and will have another year of development AND has allowed CMC to better develop his later recruiting classes without forcing them into duty too early not to mention the level of competition increasing for starting positions. Anyone with any impartiality will look at the OLine today and what is coming over the next 2-3 years and know it will be light years ahead of what CMC had to work with the 1st half of his tenure.

Back to the subject...

So are you saying that ISU won't do any better than Iowa going forward. THAT doesn't make sense either. How can ISU have similar result to Iowa when our recruiting classes are in the 40's, 50's, 60's and Iowa's are in the 20's, 30's, 40's? Isn't that really the question of this thread? How effective is Iowa's recruiting?

That's really an asinine comment. Campbell has proven he can complete with Riley and Oklahoma. How is Sark going to elevate Texas and Oklahoma to where that is no longer the case?

ISU finished 7 spots ahead of Iowa in the final football rankings and has as many top 25 finishes in program history as Iowa does the last 3 seasons.
I prefer to live in the present, not the past. Iowa fans know they’re team is a downward spiral so they mention the past. Will Iowa become a less accomplished version of Nebraska soon?

Iowa's not in a downward spiral and they're not even remotely close to where Nebraska is at, even if their games against Nebraska have been close these past few years.

I don't want Iowa State to surpass Iowa in football due to Iowa sucking. I'd rather they stay where they're at and we pass them.

What you really meant to say.
