Iowa Football Recruiting

The large guy next to the P in Polar Bears must be a Cyclone. I saw a tweet the other day where all the administration was wearing Hawkeye gear in support of Deavin and all he had on was a Hawkeye lanyard.

That's kind of creepy to notice that but yeah most of the metro is Iowa State fans

This was for publicity to ease the minds of the donors who are upset with how bad it's been since this summer

The incredible part is it has been decades since DM North produced a Division 1 football player.

Lanyardgate. Oh my God you are a clown.

That is such a Barta move on your part!

Wearing the Hawkeye gear proudly. Happy for his and his family. Rooting for the kid.

So cool that he wants to be a positive example for younger kids coming up through DSM North, fighting through the adversity he did. Cool stuff, love completing the 2021 class with this guy.

I've been around athletics in Des Moines area for over 20 years. I had no idea the North mascot is the Polar Bears. Even if you told me Cats, Lions or Polar Bears? I would have eliminated Polar Bears.

Iowa State is going to the middle of the pack because they will lose more players after next season than probably almost any other P5 school. Makes sense for them to pass up NFL $$$$ to come back tho. They have unfinished business.

No doubt they take a step back. But that is a step back from what could be ISU's best team of all time. If the rebuilding year is 6-6/7-5, isn't that what you guys have been bragging about for years now?

Well the metro is mostly Iowa State fans so it would make sense that a lot of them are Iowa State fans. He probably didn't want to buy an Iowa shirt just for a picture

My daughter went to Iowa for four years and my wife and I never put on anything Iowa related in regard to the tiger hawk logo or colors. Every time I went there, I wore ISU gear. It killed us to write "University of Iowa" on payments. We supported her financially, but that's where we drew the line.

I don't blame the guy for not wanting to wear an Iowa shirt.

C'mon man, not even for your kid? My daughter got me an ISU henley and cap within her first month on campus last year and I've worn them proudly when in Ames for Dad's Day, even wore them around the house when we watched the Fiesta Bowl.

Have a bowl of white bean chili and swallow that pride pops.

I mean, you'd love completing the class with ANY kid. Not that we're any different. Fans can talk themselves into anything being great.

Sounds like you just agreed with me.

Well yeah, adding Myslinski at the end was pretty big, I just like this kid's story.

So Iowa State is going to go from great to middle of the pack when they lose a guy that's not good in big games?

Is finishing #9 "great"? Just curious, I never know where draw that line from great teams to very good teams to good teams.

And yes ISU will go back to a 7 or 8 win team after '21.
