How is taking the final ranking of Iowa in the AP poll cherry picking a stat?

I did not think any Hawk fans actually said that. You are probably not remembering correctly or misinterpreted the posts.
I was just giving you an example as to why some people are usually so defensive towards the conference their favorite team plays in. As far as this year goes, I presume the Iowa fans that don't believe this year counted are so insecure they can't fathom Iowa State actually having a better year than them so they're willing to throw their own team's success out the window in order to make themselves feel better.
That seems a bit extreme.
The only insecure fans I see in this forum are ISU basketball fans.
Just look at all the comments and tweets posted about Iowa's loss to a top 20 team on the road Friday night.
It's not a bit extreme.. It's the same as Iowa State posters being insecure about their own basketball team so they're posting about Iowa losing a close one to a good team. Take off your team colored glasses every once in a while. The real world is nice to live in.

I am agreeing with you. Outside of a few idiots on Facebook, I have not seen Iowa fans say the college football season does not count.

I haven't been on here in a while, but I've posted here long enough to know that fans on both sides s*** on each other's accomplishments like it's their job lol. As someone already mentioned, an Iowa fan made the claim in this very thread.
Chris Hassle literally had a tweet saying that it was a exhibition season after Iowa started 0-2 and tons of tavern Hawks jumped onboard with him but you probably already knew that...
Chris Hassel doesn't matter now that he stepped on Francis' toes. Just ask them.
He's always been pretty vocal with how Fran represents the program.
Also, WTF does the local media continue to give Fran a pass on his behavior and how he treats them? Fran is a sore @ss loser and takes it out on them and they just let him get away with it because they are afraid they will lose credentials?
Well Chris Hassel is an idiot. I just saw posts from ISU fans defending Hassel's take on Fran's postgame press conference the other night.
He was an idiot when he said football was an exhibition season and he was an idiot a couple days ago when he got mad about Fran's presser.
It is not a true Iowa basketball season until Hassel starts whining about something.
Fran has his faults, sideline behavior at the very top of the list.
But I do not think he was out of line on Friday night after the game. He just did not respond to questions about the officiating or about Bohannon not playing well. If he goes off on the officials after the game or throws Bohannon under the bus then people are ticked off about that.
Also, I have not seen one local media guy that had a problem with the way Fran conducted the press conference Friday night.
