The Fran fade

Today I have completely changed my mind on the Iowa media members. You are in a position where if you say anything negative about their coaches (even it is true) you get fired (Howe) or berated by the fans on Twitter so much you just quit (Morehouse). Chad I feel especially bad for, he is basically the work equivalent of a battered wife at this point. Fran has treated him especially like absolute garbage for years, but his livelihood depends on Fran and his team so he is forced to eat the **** sandwich Fran serves him then thank Fran and keep a smile on his face.

Even tho we suck, thank God Prohm isn't a garbage human being.

I was going to look this up but I'm sure there are several who know the answer. Wasn't Patrick a 4 star as a recruit? I probably am remembering this wrong, but I have it in mind that both Patrick and Conner were 4 stars.
He also lost a bunch of weight because he was sick due to his cancer. I think he’s an alright player, he just needs to put on 25 pounds.

Gary Dolphin says hi.

Expected the new troll to give us his excuses.

1. CJ was out of the lineup
2. Motherf’n cheating refs
3. Too much orange made it hard to see the basketball
4. Garza got fouled every time he got the ball
5. Jorbo going through a tough spell
6. Margie needs to coach as Fran can’t
7. Joe T needs to be white to play for Fran.
8. Mac boys just need more time to mature
9. Hawks are slow on defense
10. It’s all Kirk and Barta’s fault.

Heard Fran was ticked because Mrs. Fran turned his advances down, she told him she didn't bang losers.

I thought maybe Fran's arrogance was softening...but when he is faced with adversity he uses it as a defense mechanism.

I'm not sure what the clinical designation is for this condition...but my parents used to call it "spoiled brat and a bad loser syndrome".

Perhaps he needs to be sent to his room.... Barta?

I agree. It's his mechanism for telling media to back off after big losses. Which, naturally, they do.

Even Hlas' column on the game was a whimpy 'nothing to see here, just win the next four' homer piece.

I hardly read or listen to any news regarding Iowa athletics. I don't hate the Hawkeyes. I just don't care.

What I know about Iowa athletics through out the year is what I read on threads like this one under the In-State Rivals forum section. I got to say just by reading some of the posts, there are a lot more ISU fans who can talk intelligently about what is going on at Iowa then there are Iowa fans on here talking about what goes on at Iowa State (I think Gonzo is one of the few Iowa fans has intelligent posts about Iowa State, however.)

But the one recurring theme in ANY thread in the In-State Rivals regarding Iowa is that Iowa fans truly believe the officials screw them over in losses, but they are the first to ridicule ISU for barely implying that the Cyclones lost a game due to a bad call or two.

And that is even with clear evidence that a bad call or two clearly made an impact in an ISU loss ( for example, the quick whistle to nullify a fumble recovery by Jeremiah George that would have sealed a win against Texas in 2013 for ISU or the phantom 3-pointer by Kansas that was made after the first missed free throw when Jared Homan was shooting two when fouled on a shot attempt).

What is the "clear" evidence or proof Iowa got screwed by the officials against Illinois other than the normal bullsh*t comments of "Garza was getting fouled every time he touched the ball."?

I truly think they believed the hype in December. Problem is you can't teach athletics. You have it or you don't. Garza has learned to play his position to perfection almost. But that's about it for them for championship quality play. And he is far from athletic. I thought I read somewhere their defense is rated only a few spots better than ours. Well....considering how bad we are this year....that's not going to win you much of anything important unless your offense all of a sudden becomes like Loyola Marymount 1990. And I don't see any Bo Kimble's or Hank Gathers wearing the black and gold.
