The Fran fade

Chad blocked me years ago on Twitter for telling him he shows his Hawk fandom too much. Wuss.

He blocked me a few years ago because after he whined about Matt Campbell not voting for Iowa to be ranked, I asked him why he wasn't questioning the 25+ other head football coaches who didn't either.

Those 2 are worse than Randy P, and that is saying something.

I agreed with your spot on post.

Randy P, however, is not the pom-pom waving cheerleader like Leistikow is. I think Randy P takes a little pride in taking little pot shots at ISU.

And I lost what little respect I had for Randy P when he never acknowledged that he tripped over a television cable to break his leg (he tried to cut across the court instead of going around like every other journalist) which perpetuated the myth that he was stampeded by the fans that stormed the floor.

But back to the the Fran Fad and Iowa's loss against unranked Indiana, I am willing to bet that Iowa drops only two spots because "that Big 10 is such a meat grinder" nonsense.

Touissant is so much better than JorBo, but he’s not from Iowa and he’s not white, so he only gets 8 mins.

Notice in the final few minutes Fran was subbing out Garza and JorBo on defense and bringing them back in on offense. That’s how bad those two are defensively and also why Garza isn’t even on some draft boards.

Garza was getting abused last night on defense. Guys were spinning around him and dunking on him. He also is terrible on pick and roll defense, which is what the NBA is.

In the last 5-6 minutes they were running P&Rs on Garza and the guard for some reason dribbled away but they were open every single time. Fran called a timeout, or it was the 4 minute one, to yell at the refs and the Indy coach had them doing it out of break and that was when Fran had to start subbing out for defense.

Iowa played awful last night and Indiana played great defense too. Indiana should have won by much more actually. This is going to really hurt the NET rankings like the Purdue losses did last year.

Do you think the fade is starting early this year or last night was an outlier? I need to know if I should start watching Iowa Basketball again

I like Garza as an offensive weapon, but he couldnt guard guys at a rec league game.

Have no idea. They have a tough schedule and it doesn’t get any easier from here on out. Wondering how the rematch against IU will go. Was it a fluke or do they match up really well. Also, see how long CJ is out for too.

I think you have to assume CJ will be out for a while given his history

Chad and Scott are both butt sniffers. They have to be positive to keep their press credentials. We all knew it was only time before the excuses started, hence Chad’s tweet about the refs. The fade has started.

Scott blocked me because I told him Iowa's 2015 football schedule was soft. Apparently not playing Michigan, Michigan State (until the B1G championship game), Ohio State, or Penn State meant a tougher schedule.
