The Cyclones are running it back.

Iowa State will officially return 20 of their 23 offensive and defensive starters from their PlayStation Fiesta Bowl champions squad after the program received major news on Sunday when All-American tight end Charlie Kolar and multiple-time first-team All-Big 12 safety Greg Eisworth announced they’ll return for another go around in 2021.

Kolar, a finalist for the Mackey Award in 2020, is basically already locked into eventually leaving Ames as the most productive tight end in the program’s history. The Norman, Okla. native is the program’s all-time leader in receptions by a tight end (106), receiving yards by a tight end (1,425) and touchdown receptions by a tight end (17).

Kolar was a first, second or third-team...

Man.....so hard not to inject this kool aide into my veins.

We've gotta be picked #2 in the league preseason.

Obviously we are no longer the "underdog" and will need to show up week in and week out...but i love it. BURY UNI in the opener.

Looking at our very limited loses to the starting units.

Obviously the TE group shouldn't miss a beat. The only question will at be the F when they line up as a lead blocker. Rus seemed to do that well but will be interesting to see if Allen steps into that spot keeping our best three on the field.

DE, hopefully McDonald grows his body into a 3 down player. Hopefully we have another rush specialist to allow Enyi to slide inside.

Finally SS, Chambers seems to be the most likely as long as he or one of the returning starters can man White's duties.

Question i wanted for some of our experts. Are there reserves that might push returnees off the one line?

Has White announced anything official yet? Or is it pretty much known he will be leaving? (Something I thought for Eisworth and Kolar lol)

Does anyone know if this is a pretty common trend across college football? Basically all non-high draft picks coming back, should
Make for an interesting season.

In all seriousness, eisworth could be all big 12 first team 4 times, can’t imagine anyone else has accomplished that, maybe anywhere in the league...I think there could be a good argument he is the best player to ever wear an Iowa state uniform if he does that

I think he did either announce or post an agent on social media. I can't quite remember.

I'm guessing Campbell's tweet has less to do with the new contract or the Jets and more to do with the announcements being finished. I believe Kolar and Eisworth were the last 2.

I was thinking that I bet we have the most productive seniors coming back for another year.

Yes, he would definitely be the first at Iowa State! I think the decision to come back was based on him getting the full 4yr experience. He was a 3yr juco guy. I think he may want to improve his int stats because not sure if he has many. I can't wait to see this defense next year. We just need another corner that can cover deep and tackle well. I'm not worried about whoever steps in for white. I do want another pass rushing tackle or End. if they move Enyi inside on passing downs. Isiah Lee is a stud vs the run. I guarantee when we play Iowa you will see how valuable he is to our defense.
