Matt Campbell vs Hayden Fry

Say what?

Exactly what I said. The PAC 12 and Big 10 were stupid and had a delayed start during a pandemic and missed a lot of games. A lot of those teams won't be ranked where they normally would be based on number of games played and thus shrinking the amount of teams that are qualified for those higher rankings.

What in the sam hell are you talking about?

What are you talking about? The Big Ten had two teams in the top 7 in the last AP poll

40% of the teams that would normally be considered for a high ranking in the AP poll basically aren't qualified based on number of games played. I'm hoping that college Bball and Wrestling don't have that same problem. But that might be a big wish.
Really - where is that rule? Ohio State was included/ranked with 5 games being played.

Please give some insight to these teams that weren't qualified to be ranked.

Dude, your precious Hoks played enough games to qualify for the CFP rankings and a top 10 finish. Truth is - you guys didn't get it done. OSU walked into the playoffs after playing a bunch of pi$$-poor opponents from your conference. Kudos to them for proving they could actually beat someone with a pulse (Clemson) - and so they proved they "belong" despite the Co-vid complications. You guys had the same opportunity to be a position for a NY6 Bowl Game with the schedule you had this year. Imagine this scenario: you beat NW & Purdue, lose to OSU in the B1G title game & then beat Florida in a NY6 bowl, earning a "top 10" final ranking. Would you honestly place an asterisk by your Hok's ranking/accomplishment due to "a pandemic year"? Also, go tell Lebron James that he needs to place an asterisk next to his NBA Title because of "Pandemic." I will hang up and listen...

Also, Wisconsin and OSU (Mich and Penn State as well?) were ranked in the top 25 during September and part of October. How many games did they play to prove they belonged? ZERO. It seems that certain Big 10 and Pac 12 teams did NOT have to play to be ranked.

CMC needs 5-10 years more run time at ISU to determine how he compares to Fry. Come on Matt...;)

There’s so much dumb in here
Yeah --- all of this person's posts seem so stupid.. they feel more like trolling than someone's actual opinion.

I mean - really... It sure feels like, "The football season doesn't count since ISU did so well and garnered all the attention - but basketball counts this year because Iowa is very good."

Lurking Hawkeye fans ---- don't be like this. Be more like Oregon fans - you can have some arrogance, but still use logic. At a bare minimum, acknowledge that your season didn't show anything (and as a result didn't mean much to Iowa fans), but that doesn't discount other teams' seasons.

I think Iowa was probably still a good football team - it does suck that they didn't play anyone to prove (or disprove) it more. I would have been angry and sad for our guys if they didn't get a chance to prove what a great team they were.

I appreciate the post but there’s no sense in trying to reason with these dooshcanoes. They are way past it with their egotistical butthurt.

Probably too dumb of a post to warrant a response, but curious to know which teams you think fall into that camp. Indiana was 7th before the bowl and had a win against a 3-3 team and a few teams with losing records. But yeah, missing out games was a bad thing for them. Iowa was what 15-16 after losing to the only team that didn’t suck balls that they played. PAC teams were ranked, and that sure proved to be a farce. Missing games didn’t hurt teams in rankings. At all. Avoiding games was actually a really good strategy. There wasnt a team that played 7 or fewer games that didn’t get the absolute benefit of the doubt without really accomplishing anything. Indiana prime example. Their best accomplishment was avoiding losses by missing games. They accomplished nothing. A bad call to beat trash pedo state in OT, a dime a dozen “team gets bored kicking your teeth in “backdoor cover vs OSU.

Record vs teams in last CFP ranking
ISU 3-3
Iowa 0-1
Indiana 0-1

record vs teams w winning records outside last CFP top 25
ISU 2-0
Iowa 1-0
Indiana 1-0

Record vs teams with losing records
ISU 4-0
Iowa 6-1
Indiana 5-1

Indiana and Iowa got all kinds of benefit of the doubt without accomplishing anything.
