The Fran fade

This is where I'm at. I just don't see Garza as anything other than a guy who might hang around the NBA. He can't defend a ball screen for his life and NBA players will absolutely abuse his lack of foot speed. The NBA as you said is just so different now than it was 20 years ago. There just aren't many spots for a player like Garza any longer.
For as good as Fran is offensively minded he's also equally bad defensively. Luka will benefit defensively when he's on a team that's better coached defensively. Late in game Saturday are guards refused to fight over ball screens and were to satisfied to switch onto Johnsin which killed us a couple times down.

That's really all I'm saying. I just think he will be a rotational piece in the NBA. He won't be a starter by any meand but i think he plays in the league for several years
The NBA is much more guard orientated now. Weak hand checking fouls, ball screens, and pick and rolls have really made it tough for a true center.

Drake is better than Iowa this year

13-0 > 9-2

Lol, do you go by Net rankings or AP? Also we can all agree that Iowa and Drake are light years ahead of ISU. The only question would be is UNI > ISU? The Net rankings have ISU at 204 and UNI at 208.

13 wins vs 9 wins. Trying to use your logic here

And where are they ranked in KenPom, Sagarin and the Net rankings? I get that ISU isn’t a basketball school, and understand very little about BB, but use year head here.

I have no idea. I thought rankings didn't matter just win totals?

ISU is #209 in the initial Net Rankings. Prohm has totally cratered what Fred built at ISU.

Iowa is sitting at #7, not bad, but man the Big10 is a meat grinder, hope we can keep this ranking up there.
Yet somehow Prohm has accomplished more than Fran. That said, things aren't looking good with Prohm right now. Maybe we are just going with the "sun shines on a dogs ass" approach Iowa has used with Fran over the last decade of mediocrity.

Prohm has completely cratered Fred’s program. Heck even with Fred’s players his first two years Prohm is now 40-52 in Big12 play 44% winning% and it is going to get even worse than that this year. Fran was .500 in Big10 play after 6 years and he inherited a complete dumpster fire.

Still think Prohm has a better conference winning percentage than Johnny Orr did.Yikes!

Prohm is so bad, I’m surprised that someone even defended him at this point. I do think ISU gets lucky again just like with McDermott and Prohm takes a small time job in the off-season and leaves Ames. I hear he wants out of Ames pretty badly.

Oh, cmon. I don't think Prohm is a good coach, but comparing Big X and Big XII conference schedules is apples to oranges. Big X is good this year, but top to bottom over the last decade the Big XII conference has been much tougher. Its not even close. Big X basketball had been seriously watered down in the recent past.

And they don’t play everybody 2x each year. Get to avoid good teams here and there.
