After watching my Bears storm into the playoffs yesterday, I figured our guy DM deserved a shout out!

He finished 6th in the league in rushing with 1,070 yards at 4.3/carry and 8 TDS.

5th in the NFL with 1,508 total yards. David was a stud in the passing game catching 54 (!) passes for 438 yards and two touchdowns.

He did this with bad QB play and a below average OL. David has a real shot at being a top 5 RB in the NFL for the next few years.

Campbell’s last three RBs are:
Hunt- pro bowler and 1,000 yard NFL rusher
Montgomery- 1,000 yard NFL rusher
Hall- All American and 6th in heisman.

We are slowly becoming Wisconsin and I love it!

Wisconsin doesn’t pass so their backs always get yards. Several of their big names have flames out in the NFL also.

I was with you until your last sentence.

Not a Bear fan but caught Bears games when I could to watch David. It should be noted that he did all that also with an OC who at times appeared to have zero clue what he what he was doing. I don’t know if it was a problem all year but there were definitely moments when play calling was beyond atrocious.

Him and Robinson are pretty much the only weapons they have on offense (though Mooney has been a nice surprise). They need to get a better offensive line.

They need a QB who defenses have to respect first and foremost. That will make Montgomery's life a lot easier. Getting Daniels back on the line next season will help.

It was frustratingly bad. 4th and inches yesterday with a chance to take the lead and the led Trubisky throw it. Nagy tries to get cute way too often.

The guy was getting beat up pretty bad yesterday, but kept digging though. The guy is tougher than nails. Give him a decent o-line and the guy could do a lot more.

Still can't believe some reporter called him a refrigerator that can only lose yards and is one of the worst RBs in the league. I'm glad Montgomery shut those people up.

This was the exact quote:

... the dude has the movement skills of a busted refrigerator and can't make defenders miss or break tackles. Relatively speaking, he's a terrible athlete at the position...

When it came to the 'broken tackles' thing I think many dismissed it because of the bad rep of B12 defenses, like he wasn't breaking tackles of D1 players.
Now he's doing that at the highest level including being a reliable receiver/outlet. Also had an 80 yard TD run a few weeks back which he never did in college.

Nagy is a terrible coach...his mismanagement cost the Bears that Eagles game (not the kicker) 2 years ago, and the offensive line is complete and utter trash (along with the QBs). Anything close to 4 YPC on that team is a miracle.

Montgomery is the real deal. As a Bears fan it's a shame he will likely be wasted in a completely incompetent organization. From top to bottom the Bears really don't have a clue.

David could have had 1,400 yards this year if they had any passing attack whatsoever. Teams really stacked the line on them knowing trubisky sucks.

Great year for him anyway, and he is going to play a few years in the NFL with a year like this.

Having someone like Mack around and doing virtually nothing will go down as just another waste of several seasons.

feels like most people love him here in Chicago, everyone with a brain knows the line blows and the offensive scheme was horrific...just needs to stay healthy and get another contract

I hope he can stay healthy and continue to produce like this season. His contract ends 2022, so if he can sign that next contract as a top 5-10 RB in the league, he will really make some $.

Jonathan Taylor looks great. Doubt he has a long shelf life though. They ran him into the ground as Wisconsin.

We almost did that with Breece this year. I hope we don’t do the same to him. Maybe J Brock could help out with that next year.

WTF? That's one of the worst takes I've ever seen.

I legitimately could not believe it when I saw that quote. I have never seen a starting RB criticized like that, when in reality, it was more due to the offensive scheme/offensive line play. Some people have started giving him the nickname of "The Fridge" as a knock to the bad take given his recent tremendous play.
