BBBWWWWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! eiu gets dropped FROM Nashville!

Has any Iowa players declared they are the National Champs yet? Or is that just done by their DB BB players.

They are playing this smart - I think KF probably has classes for handling this.

They will wait and see how tOSU does in the playoffs. If they win, they will play the "Well, we were obviously the best team in B1G and if not for COVID we could have made the CCG with a full B1G season and then beaten tOSU" Line. If tOSU falters, which I think they will, they will probably go with the "tOSU cheated to get in the playoffs, we should have been the B1G rep in the Playoffs but everyone is against us including the B1G office and they conspired to keep us out."

It would be too early to commit to a story line now but it is coming.

And that the NW and Purdue games were just exhibition so they shouldn't count against us because we started playing for real after that and played the best ball in the conference even though it was against teams with losing records and it hurts to no know we won those exhibitions even though the scoreboard doesn't show it and Barta had to throw someone under the bus so Ohio State could make the playoffs so it had to be us because everyone is after us and consider Iowa their super bowl because they know if we play Hawk football not even Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have a chance so it stinks all these things happened this year because this may have been one of the best Hawk teams of all time.

The real tragedy is that lets say for arguments sake that tOSU had to back out of the playoffs because of COVID and they reached out to Iowa to fill in, KF wouldn't be able to do it because he wouldn't have time to prepare. You don't create a masterpiece overnight you know.

Love how Mizzou doesn't give two ***** about a lower-tier bowl like the Music City Bowl while the Hoks are all butthurt.

if they didn't give two ***** about the bowl, why did they accept the invite? I'm not that disappointed the game is cancelled but you'd be hard pressed to convince me Missouri ever had any intentions of playing this game. Since Army found a bowl game, I can't think of anyone who didn't get an invite that absolutely should have but it's a bad look. These bowl games are a dying business.

Missouri had the same intentions of playing as Iowa did FWIW

UAB was a solid team. Iowa could have beat up on them without much prep time.

2020 is the gift that keeps on giving. No reason to play a bowl game like the Music City this year. Should only be CFP and NY6 games this year. I just hope they can finish basketball and wrestling this year.
I don't get why people don't want more football and especially fans of teams that missed a lot of games.
I'm also the mindset though, that I don't really care how many bowl games there are during "normal" years because if I don't like it, I don't have to watch it.

Because college football needs even less parity....

Basketball will be interesting. I wonder if what we see with Duke's women's basketball will set a precedent going forward for non-competitive teams. On one hand, a team isn't going to get better not playing games. On the other hand, it's hard to justify, especially for a non-revenue sport, sending kids all over the country to play in games when the team is obviously not a contender for a conference or national title.

I would not be surprised to see it become an issue going forward.

Right, because some teams and conferences couldn't manage their teams effectively, no teams should have the opportunity to play games.

I hadn't seen this side of Iowa football so clearly before but it is clear the mantra is "Unless we can script things out exactly like we want them, then we don't want to play." Explains a lot.
