BBBWWWWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! eiu gets dropped FROM Nashville!

I think everyone here can agree that if Iowa were playing Iowa State in a bowl game (like any media person with Hawkeye allegiances was pushing for), Kirk wouldn’t have let any players go home.
If the bowl was against Iowa State he would individually isolate each player, put themn in a bubble, get them jobs at the Iowa Hospital and then get them vaccinated as essential employees.

You guys would be killing Oregon too if you weren't playing them. No Pac12 or Big10 team deserved a NY6 OR CFP bowl this year, they simply didn't play enough games.

I agree, but they had to "bend" the rules so as to not slay the sacred cow in Columbus. How do you penalize the PAC 10 for doing exactly what the Big Turd did? Hence we are playing a team who has played half a season just as Ohio State is somehow playing for a natty after playing basically half a season. Pure BS if you ask me.

If you want to be angry, go and read Leisticow's article about Iowa's bowl game. Highlights include how much better of a bowl game Iowa deserved and how Indiana deserved a New Year's 6 ahead of us. He said Barta told the media that we had better quality wins in Oklahoma and Texas.

Gary Barta is my hero. He keeps finding ways to screw the U of Iowa and their fans. We need to send him a gift basket

So you're saying if a team just plays every game on its schedule, it shouldn't be arbitrarily punished in the last week by the committee adding a new rule dictating a certain amount of games is good and lesser amount of amount of games is bad.

If only we had an example of where that happened in the past and the committee proudly stood up for a team playing every game on its schedule rather than saying a team that played one extra game is more qualified because of a single extra game.

It's almost like at some point in the past they said having 7% less games is horrible, but now this year having 40% less games is FANTASTIC.
2020 has been pretty unique....

Oh, cuz Iowa State canceled so many? and the Big 12, ACC, and SEC managed to play almost full schedules.
Did not allow teams to opt out of games, for sniffing covid, instead of having required numbers.
The B1G consistently had games canceled because they felt like cancelling instead of risking a loss, when 1 or 2 stars were out, rather than meeting a minimum number like the other conferences set. In the Big 12 if you had enough players, for the positions and totals set by the conference you had to play the game, or forfeit. In the B1G they could just decide they didnt want to play like several did, if their QB or someone was contact traced, and could not play. They did everything they could to avoid playing if they might take a loss. Lame.
Then went out of their way to change the rules multiple times to suit OSU, when they told other schools that the rules are the rules and could not be changed.
The B1G conference is a dumpster fire, full of crybabies, that want everyone to cater to them.
ok

I don't think either should have made it where they are at. The Big10 shouldn't have a team in the NY6 or playoffs and neither should the Pac12. The university presidents made that bed, they should have to sleep in them. Plus honestly we have no clue if any of them deserve to be in either. The Pac12 certainly doesn't have a team that should sniff the NY6, and outside OSU (and this is highly in question) neither does the Big10.

I am always in favor of more football, but I would not be surprised at all if Iowa's game and many more get canned. If you are in a NY6 game like ISU I think it makes sense to drag this brutal year to the end. For the rest, seems like putting this dog to rest is reasonable decision.
